There will be pin lights on the floor as the seats will be on platforms.

Love the remote control system you got going on. You can never undervalue specific, total control from your throne (whether it be on the sofa or toilet).

Why are you getting a high contrast screen? Are there windows in the room? Seems like you would just need matt white for your application.

The platform is going to be the second row of seating and just behind that will be my edit suite. there is 6 feet for each by 12 feet wide. The knock out in the wall is for my reference monitor. Everything will be tied into the projection which will be 123" screen up front with Paradigm 7.1 surround.

The sliding glass door is a double insulated exterior door that was a lot of fun getting upstairs. But I have 2.5 tons of air in a 900 square foot room. It can drop 5 degrees in a matter of a few minutes. So I sealed it off from downstairs so during the day when I am editing I can shut off the air everywhere else.

The little hallway with the recessed boxes is a bar. It\'s only a 5 foot hall way so instead of putting regular cabinets in I recessed them. Kind of like the ceiling. It\'s only 8.5 feet tall so I put all of the ceiling lights in recessed boxes.

Haven\'t started construction yet. The theater will be in the basement with no windows. Have no clue about screens. I know we told the designer that the screen will also be used for video games like Guitar Hero World Tour where there will be some lighting used.

The mark up on screens is incredible and to be honest if you have a windowless room, freaking a white wall will look awesome. There is actually a fabric at Joann fabrics that you can get that apparently a lot of people are using. I can\'t do it because my screen is too big, but it might be a good option. I mean heck, if you can save a grand or two here you can dump more money on speakers.

I\'m not going to be able to get the screen, projector, amps and speakers for a while though. I\'m mainly working on this project to get my office upstairs.

Are the ceiling mounted MP650Ds going to be used for Rear L, Rear R, Surround L, & Surround R?

It might have been nice to do wall mounts for the surrounds, but maybe that wasn\'t possible?

I\'m having kind of the same issue with mine, but I am just going to go with wall mount since I have an angled ceiling. I have ceiling mount only in my rear speakers.

One I turn off all the lights, it\'s pitch black in the room. Even with the movie one, the residual lighting doesn\'t really show the white paint of the lights and vents much.

Damn...that\'s a really nice set-up gman!!..much RESPEC`...:fro:....seein\' your new room gives me the same feelin\' i had when i purchased my brand new home and took a dump on a toilet for the first time that was blessed by no other asses but mine....think about that the first time you sink into that couch and check out a flick....:thumb:

The projector will go inside the large box where the light track bends around the unit.

I still haven\'t built the desk yet, but I can move the desk I have right now up there for the time being.

Post by: JBean on June 04, 2009, 04:55:30 AM: Not that my relatively meager setup can compare to you guys, but I just bought a 50" Panasonic Plasma (TC-P50S1)... and it\'s freaking amazing. The wife was a little pissed I got such a big one (I told her I was getting a 42"), but she\'s all good with it after watching HD shows on it for the past few weeks. I started getting into the show "Breaking Bad" on AMC... mainly because I only want to watch shows in HD anymore.....(very good show BTW).

Coming from a 27" CRT this is just such a massive improvement. I had to call my neighbor to help me hang it on the wall... with 4 kids in the house I wanted to mount it as high as possible. For $4 more got the upgraded HD Cable Box from Comcast and I am loving it. Upconverted DVDs look better than I imagined as well.

Now I just gotta save up for a decent surround sound system... and maybe a ps3 after the price drop to see what 1080p bluray looks like. Someday I want to do it big with a proper home theater... but that will be down to road when we build our own house in the future (way down the road.. lol).

I don\'t have my projector yet and don\'t really know when I\'ll be able to get one. I\'m hoping to get a cheap one now and then when they start doing 3-D i\'ll get a good one.

Also need to get our curtain guy to come and measure. Looking to do some thick red curtains up front around the screen.

Right now this is a great nap room. Nothing like new recliners and a cold dark room to veg.

I can have all the clients up there and I can actually capture and edit the show while it\'s being shot.
