Title: The BS about blueray
Post by: QuDDus on January 21, 2009, 06:45:09 PM: Now I just had my first experience watching a blueray movie. I can honestly say all the people that told me you can\'t tell the difference lied. I was very impressed. I have a 1080P samsung 52inch and I had been watching standard dvd. I was watching a dvd at a freinds house on his blueray player and I now want one.

How good is the ps3 blueray player? I may just get the ps3

There are plenty of quality BR players in the 200-300 range that will do the trick as well. At $400 you can\'t go wrong with a PS3 factoring in some of the great games that will be coming out soon. *crosses fingers for God of War 3 in the near future*

I think I\'d notice a difference, but not so much that I care to fork over all that cash. Good to see you can get Blu Ray on Netflix at least.

Depends on the setting of the TV, the cable and just as important: the quality of the transfer to BR. Predator is a poor transfer to BR, as an example.

Post by: Eiksirf on January 23, 2009, 09:59:58 AM: Actually I had to reconfigure my Xbox last night and it looks like it\'s trying to upgrade my signal to 1080i if that\'s possible, so maybe that\'s why I wasn\'t as blown away by the Blu Ray visual.
