this is north america only. Wii as seen a total decrease sales in japan, and is behind PS3 this month.
I really wish those figures would represent worldwide sales

[size=+2]--->[/size] 360 has more games in the "great and good" category if you count them=360 released 1 full year before in NA/Jap, and nearly 1 year and half in Europe/Oceania, compared to PS3.
PS3 has the biggest %games in the "great and good" category if you consider the % factor and not total numbers.
Wii has more games in the "mixed and awful" category in any case and worst %games in the "good/great" category.

now, Nintendo made the smartest move going into another direction, focusing a lot more on casual gamers and "non players=people who never played videogames before", offering for the most part, a sort of education machine & light fitness machine; now Wii has hardcore games, but less than before, and they look and play like last generation games, like GC games, and it\'s not good for Nintendo hardcore gamers.
Now, Wii is slowing down in Europe and bad in Japan. Wii very strong only in America. We will see when Sony drop the price...
Anyway, we should care about the game experience we like and prefer, instead of posting raw numbers without even playing the games "some Nintendo fans" loved so much before..., when Nintendo was an Elite Console for true gamers.

zzz. Sales threads are bad on any forum apparently. Ah well. Nintendo can issue Wiis in Sunday edition newspapers this weekend to every man, woman, and child in America and it still wouldn\'t change the fact that I haven\'t played it since Mario Galaxy came out.
I still don\'t see the point. Oh well, back to Henry Hatsworth!

Yup that sums all I have to say about the Wii.
Ours has been sitting collecting dust since we got it with minimal play time.
My Biggest Fear is that Nintendo will be crowned this generations winner by all the media Hacks , despite having Frack all apart from a collection of gimmicks and a excuse not to do REAL exercise

anybody watch invisible walls on gametrailers? they were just talking this week about how much of a piece of crap the wii is for hardcore gamers but still manages to win everyone else over.
they had the scarface developer on and he was talking about how good 3rd party games will never be prominent on the wii (minding some like madworld) because it\'s a huge risk. When companies put in the money to make a good 360/ps3 game, they can relatively easily port those games to ps3/360/pc. but since the wii wanted to be special, developers have to make the game specifically for the controls and need to be toned down so much that it takes forever to make a game for it if they decided to port it from the 360 to the wii and they arent guaranteed enough to get their money back
but since theyre still selling consoles with the strategy to make a graphically inferior (sounds shallow, but thats why RE5 wasnt on the wii) console with a bunch of rinky dink games they\'d be dumb to change their strategy no matter how badly non-casual gamers need it to use the wii

They mean nothing when Wii continually triples the sales of PS3. Who owns the big numbers? Wii. Second place? The DS, it kills too hard for it to be denied.

I\'d argue that Nintendo SAVED gaming from the abyss of endless unoriginal clones and sequels.
3rd party sales are pretty silly. We know where Rockstar and EA makes their money, but Nintendo\'s self reliance on their own development houses finally payed dividends. Most 3rd parties do develop games for the Wii, they just suck because they became accustomed to making FF16 and Grand Theft Auto sequels. They ain\'t dumb, they realize the big money is on the Wii and will continue to try.
Remember the first name for the Wii? The Nintendo Revolution. It came (in your mouth).

Mark my words, if Nintendo are Crowned for that sham of a console and the result is that the next generation devlopment are slashed becuse its easyer and more profitable crap like Wii Music 2 "the world tour"... you know who you have to blame... The Bloody Casuals.
Because lets face it , if Nintendo can market this crap and make tons of cash with minimal devleopment costs. it won\'t be too long until others start to eye up that market.

Too bad they are ending. The times they are a changing. Sony just got confused with the PS3. They didn\'t know wtf Nintendo was doing and had nothing to copy. By the time they revealed motion controls, well, you got a shitty substitute and a ridiculously overpriced console.

When you post sales figures, they always tend to paint PS3\'s numbers in a positive light when everyone knows the console struggles and probably will never match expectations. You can only spin when there\'s a shred of truth behind it. Post the other shit like pictures of bad games and reviews from dumb websites.

ok simple test, i have had a Nintendo Wii for 2 years now and my colection of "games" stand at 1 1/2
Wii Sports Came with the Trade in Wii (yes i managed to pick up 2nd hand wii rather quick)
and Later a Fresh copy of Wii Fit
Nothing in the line up have moved me to part with my cash over the past year for Nintendo. At the moment being used for the following.
Ocassinal Wii Fit (when ever i miss the gym and want a Very light workout)
And Playing Metroid prime games using a trided and tested CONTROLLER i.e. my black Game cube controller.
Other than that its been collecting dust.
and i am not the only one everyone i know that has a Wii has only the launch bundle and a Wii Fit.
Teir and my catalouge of Wii games is a bit like a Beer selection at a Salt lake city Hotel...rather sparse
on the other hand i Have been Trested to some Great Games on the PS3 and PC over the past 2 years and prob spent more on games for my playstation 3 and PC over the past month than i have with the TOTAL cost of the Wii + Wii fit.

Times are changing because sales are high, ok, I got you, but what does that mean to me, the guy who likes games? ooseven has a hard time formulating the basic question that I ask myself about the Wii --
Why am I not having fun?
If you go back a few generations, Nintendo was king with the SNES. Even people here who hate them now for the Wii can\'t deny that they certainly had their place in the world and all of us share a great deal of fondness for those old 8-bit and 16-bit games. They were fun. They were awesome. No one here denies that.
Some can levy that they felt the same about the N64 and others the Playstation. Sure, Playstation outsold the N64, and PS2 outsold everything else, but the problem we\'re facing - and I mean we as in the hardcore - is that there always seemed to be a symbiosis between sales and fun. If console X is selling Y units 20% higher then competition, Z, then N - the consumer - would have the most fun with console X. Some can disagree and state that they prefer specific types of exclusives, but the broad wide range of games that elicited the most fun always ended up on console X in the end. PS2, PS1, SNES, NES, Atari, etc.
What\'s different now is that most people, at least amongst the hardcore, are experiencing the most fun on consoles on competition Z while console X is selling Y units 50% higher. What does that mean going forward in terms of fun? Lots of people buy Wii Fit, lots of people buy Wii Play, and everyone is still playing Wii Sports, but can you honestly sit there and say, as a hardcore gamer, this is the direction you want gaming to go in? Are you saying you have more fun with Wii Fit then the games BizioEE listed?
The problem I have is that the Wii, when you get down to the basics of games on it, and the games I like, Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, both are games that could have been done on any console. Twilight Princess was even ported to the Gamecube. The bulk of action in Mario Galaxy is done, not with motion controls, but with an analog stick that has been on console controllers since the N64. Nintendo has even gone the route of porting old Gamecube games and rereleasing them on the Wii. They\'re good games, but this is the state we\'re in. This is what high sales and new controls have brought us.
Are you really happy with that? Is that really fun to you?
I know it\'s not fun to me.
When Nintendo themselves and other third parties start producing games on the same scale as their PS3 and 360 competition with gameplay that entertains me just as much, I\'ll shut my trap. They did it with the DS fairly quickly and I changed my stance on that from being a hater to a lover, but I\'m still waiting on the Wii. Until then, the dust layer will just get thicker and thicker.
Ah well, back to Henry Hatsworth.
