Title: Another question...
Post by: clips on May 13, 2009, 09:33:38 AM
It\'s pretty simple...i was tryin\' to save a pic, and when i did, it came up as a firefox document. Ususally pics save as a gif or jpeg formats, but this particular pic is coded as a firefox document,...anyway i saved it, but i couldn\'t open the pic properly or the image wouldn\'t upload at all.

My pc then asked me when i went to open it " what program do you want to use to open file?"...so do i have to somehow try to convert this pic to jpeg or gif format, or is there some other way around it?...if i\'m out of luck, it\'s no big deal.

A looong time ago i sent some pics to Cyrus, and he converted some pics for me to jpeg format, but i don\'t have a clue as to how to convert files, and if that is what i have to do, i probably won\'t be bothered....like i said it\'s no big deal, but i wanted to know if there\'s an easy way around this.

Uhhh, what is the extension on the file? Should be something like .png, .jpeg, .gif

My guess is whatever you downloaded isn\'t actually an image.

That\'s what\'s weird....when i right click on the image...normally i\'d get.."save pic as", but here it states " Save target as"...then when i save it, it goes into my documents file, then under file type it states...firefox document.

In other words, there is no option of "save the pic as"...only "save target as" and the only file type is firefox document....idk, maybe it\'s some type of protective feature on this site that tries to restrict folks from takin\' their pics?...

just erase the .html or whatever at the end of the file and put .jpg before saving it. save target as should do the same thing as long as you can name the file .png, .jpeg, .gif

Probably trying to save an image that is actually a background for a link declared in CSS.  To see all images on the web pages in Firefox go to:

Tools > Page Info > Media Tab

Scroll down until you see the images you want, Save As...  With Firebug it\'s even easier ;)
