I honestly don\'t think I could sit and watch a movie on my laptop.

maybe they were trying to wind down and go to sleep or something, but from the article it sounded like they were trying to pass the time away.  I wouldn\'t be able to stop looking out the window.

wanker = asshole / jerk

least thats what i think it is in the UK. I\'m curious too now hehe.
