Title: Visa Prepaid Card on amazon
Post by: Viper_Fujax on June 04, 2009, 05:13:13 PM
Anyone use these on amazon? I have 80 bucks to spend, and I dont want any games till November, but I have wanted to get a new ipod.

I cant figure out how to spend the 80 and then put the rest on my credit card since amazon sees the prepaid card as THE credit card your using for the purchase

"Pre-paid gift cards can\'t be combined with credit cards on a single order."

Pretty lame. its 30 bucks more if I go to best buy. dont even really NEED an ipod..would still be nice to have one with a battery life

funk that!  what does "combined on a single order" mean?

If they won\'t let you use whatever is left over on the gift card it\'s a freaking scam.  If you buy something for $75 it\'s pretty much impossible to use the remaining $5 for something you want, and that money goes straight to Amazon.

Sorry, I\'m very anti-corporation when it comes to these useless rules that only benefits the company vs the consumer.

I have an idea for a work around.  Use your visa gift card to buy an Amazon gift card.  Since the visa gift card probably functions like a Visa credit card, I think it should work.

Then redeem the Amazon gift card yourself and apply it to your amazon account.  Your Amazon gift card balance CAN be combined with another credit card to make a larger purchase.  I\'ve done it several times when people have given me Amazon gift cards.

Read all the fine text on the Amazon gift card before you proceed.

THX, if you buy something less than 80 buck, your card holds the balance and you can use it somewhere else.  Amazon just doesn\'t want to have to do multiple charge cards on a single order since they get charged every time.  I certainly can\'t blame them.

buy porn?...what year is this?

but ill check out the amazon gift card. Still sucks even though it makes sense..all other places i\'ll be able to use my credit card to pay for the rest of the ipod, or at least im assuming. would think itd just be a part of business

edit: Gift Cards cannot be used to purchase other Gift Cards, such as Amazon.com Gift Cards, Target Gift Cards, or Borders Gift Cards.

dont know if that means visa gift cards, but im usually too lazy to deal with this stuff. ill probably just get it at best buy if i get in the mood

I also saw that under "limitations" and I read it to mean "Amazon.com gift cards cannot be used to buy other gift cards..." Every other bullet point on that list uses the phrase "gift card" to refer to the Amazon.com gift card.  What you have is a Visa prepaid card, which should function like a Visa credit card.

Oh well whatever

Ah, I thought it was an Amazon-specific gift card for some reason.  If you can use it anywhere else that\'s cool with me. :shy:

Dont even know what to do with 120gb\'s though...put all the stuff from my ipod, stuff i couldnt fit and stuff i havent listened to in years and took like 12%

anyway, where do you guys get videos for the ipod (zune/whatever) from?
