Well..the Mike thing just happened within the last hour.
Supposedly he is gone from all reports.
The weird thing is Ed McMahon, Farrah, and Mike all died in the same week. Two in the same day.

RIP Michael. I wasn\'t too shocked on Farrah Faucet because she\'s been battling cancer. I didn\'t realize Michael was in such bad health until they broke the news. Fox and CNN right now won\'t confirm he\'s dead. They are just saying that LA Times and the AP is saying he\'s dead.

Whats with all the north american fans jumping on the mourning bandwagon? well thats a dumb question, I know what its about. But come on, if you interviewed someone off the street this time last week about Michael Jackson you would of gotten an immensely different response.
To be fair people have been calling MJ a legend and an icon well before he died so its not completely surprising but I didn\'t expect this kind of reaction here in the west. I pictured the majority of people would be being smart asses like Cerb and Chiz lol :D
Maybe mainstream media feels like shit now for spending the past decade tearing down everything the guy built, and innocent guy (in the eyes of the law anyways). Or maybe its that don\'t know what you got till its gone thing. Ah well, a shame he is gone all the same.

don\'t get me wrong, I always had admiration for him as a singer, but tward the end, he did become a sad character.
I still have a lot of his old stuff on cassettes somewhere from way back when.
and when I did hear about it, I was genuinely somewhat saddned by it.
as for the kiddyfiddling thing, I don\'t buy into it. I think he did sleep with these kids, but only as the mind of a kid himself. having said that, there is no excuse for a grown man sleeping with young boys.
the worst thing he ever did was offer to settle out of court the first time round, that was like a bathroom light to a moth, all sorts of crackpots with extortion on their mind came crawling out of the woodwork looking for a slice.
like I said, I was genuinely saddened by his death, but at the same time still think it\'s not a totally bad thing to have a crack at his expense, I mean, fuck, he\'s dead anyway, like he gives a shit.

Well said. I also wish the first trial was not settled out of court. Weather he would of been found guilty or not it would of at least been closure to the whole ordeal. If he was found innocent maybe the 2nd kid wouldn\'t of tried to get a payday because as you pointed out it did bring a ton of leeches out of the woodworks, and if he was guilty well it still would of been an ending still. Now its always gonna be hanging around him there in the background. With that said obviously thats not the first thing the public seems to be focusing on since he died. Which I think is a good thing.
And I also agree its not bad to have a crack at his expense. The dude did dangle a baby over a balcony after all.
But i\'ll always miss black Michael Jackson :D

he kind of brought it on himself as well, the phrase was coined after the stories emerged of him living in a hypobaric chamber, and allegedly being obsessed over the bones of the elephant man along with a whole heap of other bullshit. these stories were circulated by the man himself, so the ultimate blame for the inspiration of the name lay with him..

Ahhh LIC...i can always depend on you to be sentimental....;)....but it\'s kinda crazy how within the last week, quite a few celebs have kicked the bucket.
Ed McMahon, Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, and now Billy Mays.
It\'s a sad day for all of these folks, but i think obviously the one garnishing the biggest impact here is MJ. He was the one person that was known all over the world and his music was one of the few genre\'s that crossed all racial borders....even tho he started becoming really weird towards the end and those questionable behaviors he had with children staying at neverland, there\'s no denying the guys talent.....he\'s truly one of the most known and recognizable names across the globe...RIP.

All these people who wanted to ruin his life now all of a sudden have a change of heart? I don\'t buy the whole \'well they have to say that to avoid the fan backlash\'. Tom Sneddon has already gone through probably hundreds of death threats from MJ fans. I\'m sure the man is use to it. So why say he is sad about his death if he was absolutely sure that he was a child molester.

the news isnt about the news. When MJ was on trial, people wanted to see him torn apart, so the news gave them that. When he died, people wanted to \'remember his legacy\' so we got 2 days straight of MJ tributes. and people watched
but i agree with gman. billy mays seemed like a normal dude, who I assume had a normal family life. is it more significant than all the other deaths, no..but when you know of someones existence then they die its more real than just hearing about \'Generic person A\' dieing.

It ended up bein\' some chick whose guts he was smashin\'....shame, but y\'know all these athletes are cheatin\' on their wives and then they come across a crazy jumpoff that probably doesn\'t want to end the affair,...from what i hear he had multiple gunshot wouds to the head while she had only one, and it looks like it was self-inflicted.
Not sayin\' that he deserved it, but these fatal attraction nuts are out there, especially if you have money...he was probably tryin\' to break up with her and she probably wasn\'t havin\' it. On another note McNair truly did something noble for his mother....years ago his mother used to pick cotton on some huge white owned and most likely racist plantation in the south. She stated how she really didn\'t understand back then how or why the white people would just stand over them and not do anything, but shout orders at them.
She just stated they didn\'t ask questions and just took it as it was just the way things were. Fast forward some 30-40 years later, and McNair actually purchased that whole plantation where she used to pick cotton and he built her a mansion that had over 10,000 square feet in it with 14 rooms.....it\'s kinda crazy in how she worked incredibly hard all of those years and in some instances working over 60 hours straight, but now she owns the very land in which she endured all of that hardship....truly an incredible story....and that is something these idiotic young people comin\' up need to gain some type of inspiration from and pay homage and respect to their parents for trying to raise them to be the very best that they can be.

Interesting to see that when telling a bad joke back then I\'d say "j/k" to make sure people knew it was just a bad joke.... after all these years I just don\'t give a shit anymore... awesome!

The only celebrity that died that I actually got a little upset for was Hunter S. Thompson.
I mean, I was sad to hear MJ died, and I listened to OFF THE WALL in memorial, but I got over it in about 10 minutes.
I thought about Hunter for at least a few days.

Can\'t really say I\'ve cared about someone famous dying. Meh.
Was a little perturbed that Heath Ledger wouldn\'t be able to reprise his role as the Joker, but I wasn\'t really upset that he was dead. Guess I\'m just a cold-hearted bastard like that.

I don\'t really care too much either for celebs, but mj\'s memorial did have some heartwrenching moments.....usher did great...lionel richie sang that classic "jesus" song from when he was with the commodores...and lastly....even tho the news have been playin\' it over and over...the part that had me rollin\' a tear back was when his daughter spoke....i had to man up a bit there.
Some say the coverage was over the top, but i don\'t think so.....everybody back in tha day had the michael jackson jacket or was influenced by him in some manner (music wise)...and the guy was practically known and imitated all over the globe....everything should die down a bit now tho....but that memorial was a great send off for him.

Yeah I think the love for him from his fans has to be a nostalgia thing. For I\'d say at least the last decade, he\'s just been a media/tabloid joke, which is a shame.

Bill May\'s death saddened me. MJ? Not so much.
I liked his songs before he switched to pop music. Off the Wall album, IMO, is his best work.

I have to disagree. Pop songs back in those days were by the likes of ABBA, David Cassidy, Olivia Newton-John, ELO, Andy Gibb etc.
Sure a lot of Off the Wall songs made it to pop stations but that\'s what pop stations are about: Playing the Top 40 popular hits.

the only part that remotely got to me was when jermaine sang smile, I don\'t think the children needed to be put into the limelight like that.
I also found it odd that a black family could be so openly nurturing of a white child that they surely must have suspected had no real jackson blood running through her veins.

And seeing the documentaries of him now when he was still black, he was a good looking guy. Why he had to get all butchered up like that is beyond me.

They\'ve showed unseen vids of mj playin\' with his kids in their younger years and his daughter displayed the same kind of affection that she was showing in that clip at the memorial only she was happy....mj might\'ve been wierd, but he i think he cared very deeply for his children....his daughter\'s touching statements were genuine.
I do agree that he shouldn\'t have hacked his face like that tho....seemed to me mike had some serious self-esteem issues....there was practically nothing left of his nose. And those kids are whiter than wayne brady.

Im pretty sure those kids loved michael. He was their dad and seeing how he felt about kids I could say he could have been a great dad.
We will never know what was really wrong with michael. He wasn\'t a bad looking guy and he had the world in his hand. I just can\'t see how he did all that stuff too his face. What person changes their skin color on purpose?
