This car tops out at 35mph but it runs on a rechargable lithium battery. Yeah. 120 miles per charge. (And I don\'t believe this is a life-size pic, either.)

Made by a Canadian company. A few tech advancements later and this could be gigantic, no?

at 35 mph I couldn\'t get it past the first stop sign without someone honking at me.  That thing just needs a golf bag holder and the A/C would be a nice add out on the links.

Everything is always "a few tech advancements later."

Nothing in this car is unusual except the use of Lithium ion batteries.  I suspect the major car manufacturers haven\'t bothered to build this car because they knew the power to weight ratio was insufficient.

Lithium Ion Batteries also explode like a bomb.  That would stink.

Would make minor accidents little more interesting at least.

Think Global, norwegian maker of electric cars has a model "City" which would be perfect for large cities. IIRC Swedish counties are lining up to buy them for use within the Home care and other places.

City has a top speed of 105 Km/h and a range of 210 Km.

I saw one yesterday at a home depot.  They must have been running in to get a light bulb.

That was a Volkswagen though. :P

I\'ve seen crash test videos of Smartcars.. in car-on-car accidents they seem pretty secure.

Yes, even a SUV would have a hard time against a semi.
