just saw it and i liked it very much buuuuttttttt............
it is probably his least approachable film. even less approachable than jackie brown
trailers bill it as a jewish dirty dozen which it is not. This is what i was expecting and it turned out to be something completely different
if you really really like tarantino then go see it now, if you kinda like him wait for dvd and if you you not sure or this would be your first tarantino film dont bother
otherwise i thought it was his funniest movie and it has some of his best dialogue scenes but they are subtitled so it\'s not quite like his other movies
ok i\'m done
-
I definitely want to see it, but probably a rental.
-
Also looking forward to seeing it. Like Vid i\'ll probably end up renting it rather than seeing it in theater.
a lil off topic but did anyone happen to see District 9? I did and loved it. Amazing what they did on that small a budget.
-
District 9 does look interesting....but i\'ll probably wait for that to drop on dvd as well....i actually like watchin\' movies in the comfort of my home than dealing with the masses in theaters.
-
I normally go in the middle of the week in the middle of the day when its at its deadest because I don\'t enjoy large theater crowds either. Too many assholes. But it is summer time so even those are kinda busy, so i\'ve been going to the drive in all summer :D Surely my favorite place to watch a movie. I think I enjoy the atmosphere at the drive in as much as the movies.
-
I didn\'t even think drive ins existed anymore...i haven\'t been to a drive in since i was like 5..and the movie i watched i think the name of it was.."food of the gods"....which i didn\'t understand because all it was about was giant rats killing and eating people...:D

ill probably wait for inglorious basterds to get to dvd but i definitly want to catch district 9 asap. Going to have to wait too long for it to get to dvd. star trek and those that came out at the same time dont come out till like november, let alone movies new in the theater now
-
Interesting, all the love for District 9. I haven\'t seen but all the people I talked to thought it was decent but nothing great. Now everybody, including myself, loved Inglorious Basterds.
-
Brad pitt is the man he can basicly wipe his ass throughout an entire movie and I will go see it. Checking it out 2marrow when the prices is half off.
-
Loved District 9 and will probably go see basterds sometime this week.
-
i thought the movie was great
but it is very dialogue based which some people like you said might think otherwise from trailers
-
About 30min of the film could have been cut, or simply replaced with decent character development. There were only 1 or 2 escapades with the Basterds that weren\'t short 20 second snippets.
After we left the theater we agreed it was our least favorite Tarantino film, but a couple days later and it\'s kinda growing on me. Either way, he needs to branch out and do something a little different next time. I think we\'re overdue for a good clue-style mystery whodunit

Enjoyed District 9. Loved Basterds. Something about it really pulled me in.
-
Funny how it wasn\'t really about the inglorious basterds, I liked it though. Hans Landa was awesome, that character made the movie
-
Checked out IB last night. Wickedly fun time at the movies. Christoph Waltz (the guy who plays Hans Landa) deserves some kind of award...or a suitcase full of money, something extra, because he definitely stole the show

I saw Inglourious Basterds last weekend. I did enjoy it greatly, but I don\'t think it\'s as accessible to the mass market as his past films. That\'s OK with me!
As usual, there were heaps of references to great WWII movies of the past. There is more than one reference to Sam Fuller\'s "The Big Red One." (Try to see the Reconstruction version if you can) For example, the scene in which the British agent was exposed in the bar is a reference to the scene where the German spies were exposed because of the way they cut their meat. At least that\'s what I thought of.
