Post by: Viper_Fujax on August 31, 2009, 12:56:07 PM
2009 is following 2007,8 with releasing a bunch of awesome games in the span of a few months. like epicbattlecry said, the gaming industry is trying to single handedly fix the economy this fall. whats on your list?
for sure: ASSASSINS CREED 2 Uncharted 2 Alpha Protocol (not 100% sure but it looks good so far) Call of Duty: MW2
look into later: Sabateur Dragon Age- not my favorite setting, but it\'s bioware

I want Scribblenauts for Nintendo DS! I might get a new Mario platformer if that comes out, too. That\'s about it. I\'d still like to pick up RE5 at some point.

Halo is sooo overrated.
j/k(well actually it is) but i don\'t like fps in general so there\'s that, and the vid was ok, a bit generic, but i probably wouldn\'t watch it.

I always feel like such a loser buying games this time of year.
My birthday is Dec 26, the day right after xmas. So this is the only time of the whole year I get to ask for a lil something and between xmas and my bday I know I can make out like a bandit. But god dammit i\'m just too impatient and bought Borderlands yesterday.
At first Borderlands was just going to be a rental. Then I learned that it was online 4 player co-op. Co-operative FPS MMO? hellooooo *nerd gasm*
Anyways haven\'t played it nearly enough to give it a proper review however from the lil smidgen i have played its like Fallout 3 but with humor and more up beat. So for all you Fallout 3 junkies here I say definitely give this game a rental, you may find yourself really enjoying it. Is that to say it is as good as Fallout 3? well like I said I have only just begun to scratch the surface of this one, and Fallout 3 is a masterpiece so i\'m not going down that road. But so far it looks like its going to be a hell of a fun ride.

Now that Activision is charging a full $60 for the PC version of COD (ugh) I\'m passing it up and bought Borderlands instead via Steam.
Tekken 6 purchased too, but I hate it compared to T5: DR

When I got my ps3 my buddy told me to get Dead Space. The game kicks so much ass. I just could not believe how awesome that game is.

Here is a good article about how bad Infinity Ward is gutting the PC version of modern warfare 2
There also taking party chat out of xbox live in some modes. Which they have no fucking right to do. Party chat isn\'t part of Silver Membership, its part of Gold, which I pay money for every month. Has nothing to do with Infinity Ward.

It seems like all their decisions for this game have more to do with pissing consumers off than actual business decisions. Maybe they\'re taking advantage of the hype (the game is going to sell like crazy no matter what), so theyre making the game as cheap as humanly possible.
what modes won\'t have party chat? and did they explain their reasoning?

Moriarte: Ignoring IW.net, is the PC version a direct port of the console version?
Mackey-IW: No, PC has custom stuff like mouse control, text chat in game, and graphics settings.
no fucking shit!!!

From what i\'ve read its any mode where its ranked. So basically the main mode that everyone plays to level up and unlock their guns. The reasoning was to prevent cheating. Dead team members relaying information to alive ones. If theres a clan out there who really really wants to cheat then there gonna use Skype/yahoo/ or a telephone... thats what annoys me, with true cheaters, its not going to change anything.
and I think your exactly right. They are taking advantage of the hype and they know people will buy it no matter what. A week later, Left 4 Dead 2 is going to come out. I don\'t care what anyone says, L4d2 is nothing more than a DLC pack for L4D1 priced as a full game. So yeah, developers are learning how hard they can fuck gamers just by racking up the hype. As of now pre-orders for L4D2 are four times higher than the first game. First game is only 1 year old and didn\'t even have everything that made the game great until maybe 4-6 months into its release.

A friend of a friend who has the game (i\'ve seen him on my buddy\'s friends list playing modern warfare 2) has played team deathmatch and didn\'t get kicked out of party chat. Might be more exclusive to modes like search and destroy or sabotage.
