I\'m probably seeing Saw VI tonight or this weekend. After Saw I, the series got a bad rap, but if you watch them back to back, it turns out there\'s an intriguing backstory that runs through all six, and it really became the focus of Saw V. It\'s interesting if you keep track of the plot twists and try to anticipate what\'s coming next.
I imagine while everyone is looking for a cheap Halloween scare tonight, I\'ll be one of the only ones curious about what Jill Tuck is up to and if Detective Hoffman will get his or even try to live up to Jigsaw\'s legacy.
Huh?

Tell us how it was

It was good. I think it might\'ve been the second best one in the series, still behind Saw I. The story was good like I\'d hoped, too, and I think they gave just enough flashbacks/backstory that you almost wouldn\'t be confused as a stand alone movie. Definitely helps to know the characters going in.
The gore... well, we\'re desensitized by now, but the trap from the poster was still cringe worthy.

Cool now next year we\'ll see Saw 7 in 3-d I\'m sure...

Saw VI Production Budget: $11 million
Lol!! What a cash cow. They will keep pumping these out even if they start breaking even.

Yeah, no kidding. Opening weekend alone brought in 14 mill. Nevermind the next few weeks, foreign sales, plus DVD sales. They pump them out annually, so for now that\'s not a bad little item to have on the balance sheet.
Last year\'s brought in $114 million just at the box office for a $10.8 million investment. WOW. Opening weekend for that one did double of what it did this year.

How can anyone still support these movies? Does the story make any sense? I rented saw 5 on dvd and I swore jigga saw died but even that dude is like make old and on his death bed. Just seems like they are pumping them out for money.
11mil budget....lol how cheap they will make these no matter what for that price.

Yeah Jigsaw died in like Saw III, but the movies generally pick up RIGHT where the last ones left off. The bulk of Saw VI takes place probably a week or so after his death, so his influence is still all over the place. When he died, he had a few things already in place with a few pawns carrying out his wishes, so his stuff is still being carried out. Through newly filmed flashbacks, he had a pretty sizable role in Saw VI.
Saw III and IV took place simultaneously, which was pretty wild. It makes keeping the storyline straight a challenge, but it does make sense and Jigsaw\'s motivations are pretty compelling. He didn\'t generally want to kill anyone, just punish people, test them and give them the tools to realize and change whatever was so bad about their personality... The couple of people he\'s groomed to replace him, he\'s not sure they always share the same intentions so there\'s always that under current of whether and how Jigsaw will be testing them as well.
