Nolaws already posted a preview in the PS3 News / Rumours / INFO of the DAY Thread, but I think it could deserve its own Thread as more info are available.
PlayStation 3 Firmware v3.10: Facebook, Friends List Details
As shown in the video and the screenshots below, the Photo view on the XMB has been improved. Your photos are now shown in a grid format rather than in one line to make it easier for you to skip straight to the photo you want or browse an album quickly.
We’ve added some links to the worlds most popular social network site, Facebook.
If you want to show your friends what trophies you’ve earned or brag about your gaming prowess, simply go to account management, under PSN, and turn this option on to share your triumphs with your friends
You can also share information about your PSN Store purchases if you want. Turn this on the same way and you will be asked each time you purchase from the store if you want to share it on Facebook or not. Let all your friends know what you’re playing and get them to join you online.
Television lovers in other parts of Europe can now enjoy faster access to catch-up on TV with the addition of the following on-demand TV sites to the XMB over the next few days–
RTVE, Antena 3 and LaSexta – Spain
No need to watch catch-up TV on your PC anymore, enjoy it in the comfort of your living room and on your big screen.
We are working on adding more of these as soon as we can
You will also see in the screenshot below, and the previous video post, that the next stage of the Friends list update is complete and, as you can see, only the profile that’s selected has the coloured box.
This brings us to the final part of the main updated features which is that you can now customize your PSN profile with your favourite colour. Just open up your profile and click X on the upper left tab to get the colour pallet and to choose your colour.

Firmware 3.10 allows users to send error reports to Sony
Has your PS3 ever frozen randomly? Sony wants to know about it. Thanks to firmware 3.10, Sony now allows users to send an error report after an improper shutdown.
Freezing is an annoying issue and there is no way for everyone to be able to report such errors in an easy way. While it’s unknown what exactly is being sent to Sony, expect information about your software and hardware to be sent. According to a disclaimer before sending in the report, this includes PSN account information, the content saved on your PS3, and your email address. This information will be sent if it was being used during the time of the problem.
Should we be alarmed? Doubtful.
Hopefully this will make certain freezes a thing of the past, especially for the PS3 web browser. In fact, that’s how we were able to get these pics without fail. After opening up YouTube XL on the browser, a freeze came within the next 10 minutes. Such a dependable freezing technique hopefully showcases the problems that exist so that Sony can fix the bugs ASAP.
When you start up your PS3 after a freeze expect to see this message:
Yes, I want to spam SCE!
What do you guys think? This is probably one of the more practical features of firmware 3.10. We’d rather spam Sony with error reports than spam facebook friends with trophy notifications…but that’s just us. Don’t forget to check out our firmware 3.10 impressions.

what the blood is party chat?

what the blood is party chat?
it lets you have a group of people in the same mic chat room, then you can hop game to game and never lose your comm\'s with the people you\'re in a group with. all while muting all the other people you\'re playing with online
on the ps3 you can only talk to people in some useless chat thing that doesnt let you join games and be in it at the same time, or join a game and constantly have to mute everyone but your friends.
xbox already has it so sony would have to call it something else, but I dont think MS can put a patent on something like that. so I dont get why sony doesnt have it

oh! The Japanese suck for user-friendly software like that. I remember they were talking to the folks behind X-Fire (an awesome PC gamer comm system) to help them implement their dashboard, looks like that never worked out.
They need to hire American developers to sort their shit out. PSN wouldn\'t be what it is today if it weren\'t for xbox live, or competition in general.
