Logan\'s computer was ll screwed up. Slow to the point where it was impossible to do anything. So I redid it with an upgrade version of Windows 7. I booted from a CD, wiped off the hard drive (WITH THEIR FUCKING SOFTWARE) and did a clean install (WITH THEIR OPTION TO DO IT)
Now I can\'t get it to accept the key code because I didn\'t upgrade. It doesn\'t even give me the option to give my old keycode to prove I have an old copy. Fucking retarded.
I found one work around by editing the registry, but that didn\'t work. If any of you have heard of anything let me know. Please. I think I have about 25 days then I guess I\'m buying another mac.
-
Google it, lots of people have the same issue and found a workaround. Wish I knew a URL offhand but I don\'t :(
-
Like I said, I did one of the work arounds and it went from saying "invalid key" before I fixed the registry to "this is an upgrade key" after fixing the registry.
It\'s just plain stupid. If they offer a format option on install then let me type in my old key to show I have a past version of the software like they do on the mac.

Error is in between the chair and keyboard ;)
-
i got it fixed the third fix I found. Ridiculous.
-
And this is why I\'m upgrading to a mac :)

By upgrading you meant downgrading right?

I do a lot of imaging and macs are better at it...supposedly. Everyone I talk to at work tells me to go with a mac, and I\'ll take the guys from Geek Squad\'s word for it over yours :)

Macs have a better UI but if you\'re just using Photoshop and buy the right LCD monitor you can have a similar experience on PC.
Another thing to think about is Photoshop is now 64-bit on Windows only with CS4. It flies on my core i7 w/6gb of ram.

I\'m a Mac and Windows user. I do like the Mac interface better, but I have found W7 quite impressive. Lately, I only use the Mac for video editing.

I was PC all my life until three years ago. Mac is far more stable and easier to use. As many programs? No.. But they certainly have everything you need.
-
with stateless applications & OS\'s swinging our way, we will see a lot more stability for those folks who just want to read email, surf the web and watch Po2n. Thats when most people can give M$ the finger and the boot. I find mac more stable, to date, but I\'m not willing to pay a premium for such a lack of customization.

I always said the same thing. Gosh it\'s so nice to be able to upgrade easily with the basic PC. But I never did... By the time I wanted to update my computer, the motherboard was out of date anyway so fuck it.
Mac Pro are going to jump to 12 core/24 threads next spring so I will probably upgrade then. I still have a quad.....

Nice. Do you think you\'ll see an improvement when working with/encoding video?
-
Oh jeeze.. Al I do is render. It has to be way faster.
Encoding won\'t make a difference. That\'s real time.
Transcoding will be a lot faster though.
