Ok, I dunno how or why this happened. My external hard drive is supposed to be my E: drive. It has been that way for 3 years and don\'t know why but it changed to I: drive just today. My computer reads the hard drive and all but Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Winamp and anything else that reads any of my media on my hard drive is not linked up anymore. I know there\'s a way to do it but how do I assign drive letters in Windows XP? I want my hard drive back to E

right click my computer and go to manage. then on the left side click disk management under storage. Then right-click the I: drive and click \'change drive letter and paths\'. that should work. never did it all the way through so im not sure if you just type in E: in the box er what.
if you unplug and replug the external hard drive, it might change again if you\'re also plugging in any other peripherals before you replug the hd
edit: ah, it goes to a drop down box with all the letters
