Title: Global Warming = tons of snow.
Post by: GmanJoe on February 04, 2010, 09:03:50 AM
WTF, Al Gore! You said it winter would go away, the polar caps would melt and people would develop gills!

Third snow storm in 6 weeks. Or God hates the Mid Atlantic.

The latter. I mean, who DOESN\'T hate the Mid Atlantic?

Here in Ohio we\'ve had a relatively mild winter, but I\'m not complaining.

Go to school in Ohio but I move quite a bit.  Lived in NYC, Austin, Seattle, and LA since I\'ve been a member of this board.

Edit: Looks like i\'m also lazy when it comes to changing my location as well.

New york is fun for short periods of time, definitely not a city I would want to live in after school.  I like urban centers and all, but I also like having some space.  It just seemed like you couldn\'t escape from the city.  Plus I lived in crown heights, Brooklyn.  I was the only white kid on the block, I got some interesting looks on the subway, and more than a few words thrown my way.

Austin on the other hand, that city is pretty damn awesome.

^^^Haha that\'s how i feel about NYC,..i luv the city, but i couldn\'t live there...the apt\'s and condo\'s are super expensive and small. Not really ideal for raising a family. I like the set-up i had in jersey,... hit nyc on tha weekends and come back to the quiet suburbs of jersey after partying or shopping in nyc.

I\'ve never been to austin tho....as far as global warming goes, idk..i would like to believe that all of the pollution and the way that upcoming 3rd world countries are developing and adding to the pollution, that it affects the weather on some level(maybe not as dramatic as some scientists say)...even tho the atmosphere continually repairs itself, i think when a good amount of these poorer countries are built up and overloading the atmosphere with pollution, maybe we\'ll see some noticeable changes in weather cycles.

As it stands now i don\'t see any dramatic change in weather unless we have a fallout 3 situation and have a nuclear radiation fallout....y\'know when they say that the ash from the radiation will block out the sun and the lingering radiation would kill off most everybody else...i believe something like that will definitely take a toll on the weather and atmosphere.

I think Gore is full of shit. We\'re gonna get 6-12 inches tonight alone here in Jersey. Sucks I may get snowed in at work....again.

It\'s all a big pile of shit.  I\'m all for companies needing to better themselves and make themselves more green just for a healthier environment.  But are we all going to die in the next couple hundred years because of melting icecaps?  Nah.  Poppycock.

If it is true and the icecaps do melt in like 50 or so years like they say, then I\'m sitting on some prime ocean front real estate. Sucks I have to wait 50 or so years but its an investment :)

Prepping for another 15-20" or so.  I love when the city shuts down :D

Yeah they\'re calling for another 20 on top of our 24 from the other day. The problem isn\'t the amount of snow (a little bit, because, where will they put it?) but mostly it\'s Baltimore\'s lack of preparedness. They don\'t usually get snow like this, so most roads stay snow covered, even in the city, for days at a time, and now with snow coming again it\'s going to get worse. Public transit is in shambles. It\'s a real shame how this worked out.

But the new mayor says it\'s actually going really well, so what do I know?
