It looks beautiful. Who bought the 1st one ?
-
He\'ll yeah. Great game. I heard they brought in better voice acting too. That was the only bad part of part 1
-
wish i could find the first one for like 15 bucks
dont feel like paying 30+ for a game I got 3/4ths through
-
phuck it...
ended up getting it for 30 bucks today
I guess I\'m only 55% done, and I still have an evil playthrough to do so i figured it was worth buying
-
While, quality wise, the series isnt up to par with some of my favorite games from this gen (AC, mass effect, uncharted), infamous is up there with my new favorite IP\'s in recent years
I\'m loving going through infamous 1 again and the trailer for infamous 2 looks amazing. I\'ll try to keep expectations low, but it seems like theyre trying to be up there with uncharted in terms of quality, on top of building on the great gameplay from the first.

think it\'s time for an avatar change
-
Would be so cool to get multiplayer action this time.
-
The trailer is fantastic, they are trying to come close to Uncharted2 graphics/effects/cinematic, in a open world engine, that\'s great, impressive ;)
The action seems pure rocking, really waiting for this one.
About MP, I don\'t know what to say, hope they have enough time/resources to implement it as ND did with number2 and won\'t go at the expense of the SP. It depends from their resources and development time and/or developers wishes. We\'ll see.
edited: great avatar Viper :) I love that scene !
-
Changed cole\'s voice. The acting in the first was bad.
Riding the pipes wih electricity was pretty cool. Look forward to it. Game on!
What are the odds this comes out before gt5? ;)

ih ih you never know, it could be. In America GT5 should come out on Nov the 2nd, but no release date for Jap and Europe. We\'ll see.
And what about the Last Guardian ? nothing at this E3, hope it\'s coming out in 2011 :D

I cannot wait for this game! Working on my platinum for the first Infamous currently.

I cannot wait for this game! Working on my platinum for the first Infamous currently.
same here. I just did some of the more tedious ones like 100 high falls and killing 25 people on a moving train (that one was suprisingly annoying). plus finding the last few shards were a pain in the ass.
just have to play the 2nd half of the game staying evil and bio leeching a bunch of dudes along the way and ill get it
i\'ve officially added infamous to my list of franchises i\'ll always platinum/get all achievements
-
just platinum\'d it
i spent the last 30 minutes just hopping on all 4 train tracks for a bunch of quick 7 exp, lol. I didnt realize the trophy was just for \'evil\' upgrades so i ignored the 12000 point upgrade and had to get a bunch of xp after the game...was a pain in the ass

New Trailer for inFamous 2 Appears at GamesCom
Sony has released a new trailer for inFamous 2 at GamesCom.
Featuring "The House of the Rising Sun" by The Animals and some interesting frozen-in-time shots, it\'s an interesting watch. It may not feature much gameplay, but the style of the video makes up for it.
InFamous 2 is being developed by Sucker Punch and is due out 2011.

Multiplayer, PlayStation Move and stereoscopic 3D are all being considered for inFamous 2 - Sony\'s big PS3 exclusive for 2011.
Developer Sucker Punch has mentioned the possibility of 3D and Move support in the past, but this is the first time it\'s suggested multiplayer as a potential feature.
"Sony has a lot of great technologies: 3D, Move, multiplayer. We\'re looking into all of them," inFamous 2 designer Darren Bridges told a Eurogamer Expo 2010 audience today.
"The single-player campaign is our main focus and then we\'re going to look at those other features and see if they fit in."
Bridges manned a robust on-stage demonstration of inFamous 2. He took the audience through New Morais and showcased the new parkour system and superpowers. We talked to him before the presentation about those.
His Eurogamer Expo 2010 session didn\'t, however, mention the morality system.
"It\'s going to be a pillar of inFamous 2," Bridges assured fans. "We haven\'t talked a lot about it yet, but it\'s definitely coming back."
"We want players to have a different experience based on how they play."
Another grey area was whether characters from inFamous 1 could be carried over to the sequel. "I can\'t talk about that. We\'ve had that question a lot," said Bridges, not denying its inclusion.
Fans also quizzed Bridges on the ice powers spotted in a recent trailer.
"It was in the trailer," he admitted with a smile. "That\'s all I got for now, but stay tuned.
"He\'s still the electric man; he\'s not going to turn into ice man, but stay tuned."
Nevertheless, Bridges could confirm that side missions will return.
"They were actually a bigger success than we thought," he offered, but acknowledged, as a developer can, "there were some that sucked".
"They\'re going to be coming back. They\'re a big focus for us as well."
inFamous 2 is due out exclusively on PS3 next year.

New Infamous 2 Details Emerge
- Infamous 2, just like the original Infamous, is on target to be rated T for Teen, meaning that while the game might have different themes – even more serious or adult at times – it should still be accessible for a younger audience.
- A map within the article shows part of New Marais. Six specific locations around the map are identified, although it\'s unclear whether you\'ll be able to explore the interior of these locations or whether they will simply be worked on or around during your adventure (just like in the original Infamous). They are Plantations, St. Ignatius Cathedral, Fort Philip, St. Charles Cemetery, Ville Cochon, and Ascension Parish.
- The cattle prod-like weapon we\'ve seen and heard so much about seems to have a name. At least for the time being, it will be known as "The Amp."
- The E3 demo of Infamous 2 saw the controlling hooligans of New Marais, The Militia, doing battle with a group of monstrous-looking creatures. These guys look a great deal like the Necromorphs from Dead Space, but they didn\'t have a name. Now, apparently, they do. According to the PlayStation: The Official Magazine article, this rival group is known simply as The Corrupted.
- Perhaps the single most interesting tidbit from the article pertains to the game\'s choices. Infamous was rife with good-versus-evil choices, and Infamous 2 will have the same system. We already know that your save from the original Infamous will somehow affect how Infamous 2 plays out, Mass Effect-style. But what we didn\'t know until now is that there is at least a single choice in the game that, once taken, will lead the player down drastically different roads towards the end of the game. It\'s unknown how deep into the game this particular choice is made, and it\'s unclear whether or not there are more radical choices like this, but one thing appears to be sure – playing through Infamous 2 more than once will be a necessity, just as it was in the original Infamous.
- And finally, collectibles! Nate Fox wasn\'t ready to talk at E3 about just what collectibles, if any, Infamous 2 would have in store. The PlayStation: The Official Magazine article seems to answer that question for us, however. A profile piece in the magazine introduces a yet-unknown character named Dr. Sebastian Wolfe. The doctor resides in New Marais and was apparently part of the scientific crew that created the Ray Sphere, which is the mysterious device that gave Cole his powers at the beginning of the original Infamous. Wolfe was responsible for deploying items called Blast Cores all around New Marais, which will apparently give Cole new powers as he finds them. There appear to be not many of these, so this could be construed as being Infamous 2\'s version of Dead Drops. But worry not; the article also confirms that Blast Shards are making a return. There were 350 of them in the original Infamous, and finding them gave Cole more and more power. We still don\'t know how many will be in New Marais, however.

What Goes Around Comes Around: More on the inFAMOUS 2 Karma System
I think most of us at Sucker Punch have noticed the days starting to blur together a bit. So while I had a quiet moment here on Southwest Flight 651, I thought I’d put the time to good use and give you an update on our progress with I2 (inFAMOUS 2) … Ken’s post from last week got the ball rolling, let’s see if I can spill some more beans on the Karma system…
When we took a look at the Karma system in I1 (inFAMOUS, the first game) we wanted to keep the successful stuff, but also make improvements … As a top line, we knew we wanted to continue to offer players the choice and responsibility that comes along with having powers. This is one of the central themes of many archetype super-hero stories, as well as an interesting exploration of the relationship between power, responsibility and the test of character that powers bring. So, that had to stay.
But on the flip side, we got feedback from fans that some of the choices felt too mechanical, and they wanted their choices to have more meaning in the narrative and in the world. So, our challenge with I2 was to make these choices more real, more believable, and yet still keep them visible and clear to the players.
When we spent time thinking and designing the improved Karma system, we ultimately concluded that there was a way to make these choices both clearer and much more believable: to make your Karma decisions more about relationships and less about the specific choice at hand. So instead of a question that really didn’t relate to our primary gameplay (e.g. “should we take this food or give it away?”), in I2 we let the player decide who to ally with on a quest, or choose between Kuo’s surgical strike or Nix’s no-holds barred assault. You aren’t just choosing a mission, you’re choosing an ally and alienating another person. This was both clear for players, and more real.
Here are a couple videos which demonstrate what I’m talking about, but let me set them up a bit …

Have they announced Move support yet? That and Multiplayer would be cool.
-
I\'m always hesitant about MP being added to a great SP game (always a chance too many resources get taken away from SP to make it)
And i\'m not big on motion controls, so im not buying a move..but move could actually be kind of bad ass with this game since all of his powers pretty much revolve around his hands. Even ones like the lightening bolt in the first one would be kind of cool to raise your arms and then lower them really quick like his animation in the game. Havent heard if it does have move support or not though

Sucker Punch has just revealed that the big announcement is an unexpected feature for inFamous 2: user created missions.
It seems inFamous 2 is joining the ranks of Play. Create. Share. and allowing players to create missions by placing event triggers and enemies around the city. Once you make your fan fiction masterwork and upload it for the world to see players can jump into simply by walking into the missions starting point while playing the game\'s campaign. Of course there are filters so you won\'t have to wade through a bunch of platforming type missions if all you want is something more shooting focussed.
Sucker Punch says that you can make just about any type of mission you can think of with the creation tools provided and anyone who wants to test that statement should keep Early April marked on their calendars since a limited public beta is scheduled to go live around that time. Sucker Punch promises to have more details on this released March 14th so keep your eyes on GamrFeed for further details.

Infamous 2: Three Reasons to be Excited, One to be Concerned
Sucker Punch is focused on making us as players feel powerful in Infamous 2. There are 50 powers for Cole to tinker with, and after playing for a bit, I can already tell I\'m going to be experimenting like mad.
The Kinetic Pulse allowed me to levitate a car and then fire it off like a bullet -- I could even stand on the car, lift it, and fire it out from underneath Cole\'s feet. The Bolt Stream allows Cole to spray out mini-blasts of electricity like a machine gun, the Ionic Drain sucks the lifeforce from the bad guys around Cole, and the Firebird Strike has Cole fly for a brief second before exploding out in a burst of electricity.
The coolest power addition, though, isn\'t even a power; it\'s the quick-switch option. At any time in the game, I could hold left on the d-pad and assign the unlocked abilities to a button on the fly. I could try the napalm grenades, get sick of them, and easily assign an electrocution grenade without having to jump through menu hoops.

inFAMOUS 2: The Beast is Coming
Here at Sucker Punch we’re tired. We’re whipped. Game development is a sprint. You run as hard as you can, then keep running. The problem is the goal line sometimes move mid-race. When you set out to make a game you sort of have an idea of what it’ll ultimately be… but that’s not what it ends up being. You only know what you’ve made once it’s done. Like you guys we experience the game, the real game, for the first time at the end of the road. And it’s exciting. It’s crazy to be playing the game and forget that you made it because you’re busy ducking an RPG rocket. You know that feeling you get when you actually dodge in your seat? Get that all the time. Cole and his friends have stopped being polygons and actors and have become real people. And it’s this reality that makes today’s post cool. Now that we’re so, so close to being done we can finally really talk about the “Big Bad” that pushes the whole story forward...

Really looking forward to this title. Still June 7 for North America?

IGN Infamous 2 Review : 9/10
Closing Comments
Everything in Infamous 2 is cleverly interconnected. If you neglect side quests, the city will be less safe (making the game more difficult) and you’ll have fewer skills to purchase. Neglecting to collect Blast Shards gives Cole less electricity to work with. Ignoring Dead Drops will keep the story darker and more nebulous. And refusing to work with UGC not only forces you to miss out on easy Trophies but also removes a welcome community feel to Infamous 2 that the original lacked.
Nothing exists in Infamous 2 just because, and that’s something developer Sucker Punch should be commended for. When combined with how well-executed just about everything in the game is, the overall package is one of PlayStation 3’s best and a must-play for fans of the first game. Don’t be deceived by niche subject matter like I was when the original Infamous first came out. This is a rock-solid third-person action game with an incredible story, great characters, meaty gameplay and – above all else – a string that effectively ties everything together.

20+ hours for one playthrough? hell yea
After getting dirt 3 I was kind of debating on holding off on infamous 2 if it was a 10 hour game. But that pretty much sealed getting it on release day
I used to hate collecting things in an open world game (gta4 was the worst), but it works really well with games like infamous and assassins creed. It\'s fun to just run around and explore the world..collectables make it more worthwhile

got it after work today
I was a little underwhelmed with the opening and the controls felt looser than I was expecting (i put the camera down to the slowest setting, which helped)
But then was hanging from the top a building, shot one guy from a weird angle that could only happen in infamous, and did the drop-down attack to knock the other guys to the ground and finish them off and remembered why the series kicks ass
cant wait to play through the rest..hopefully dirt 3 and assassins will keep me from going through it too quickly
-
Agreed on the controls, but settled in to them with a little playtime. Not that far along with the main quest as it\'s too easy to get sidetracked and goof around, a definite thumbs-up so far.

Yea it is,lol. Every time I come across a mugging or a group of people needing to be revived i figure \'what the hell..itll just take a second\'. Plus I dunno whether I want to go out of my way to get blast shards right away or just pick them up as I come across them..still, ill stop going towards an objective and get sidetracked getting one shard, then see another one and grab that...next thing you know I\'m going away from the objective
-
shards are pretty important though since they give you more power. I don\'t go out of my way, but if I see one I don\'t skip it. Ya never know if the one you see you\'ll ever freaking find again. I played it last night for about 15 minutes. Freaking great.
-
I\'m about 20% complete right now, and the action has totally ramped up. The power upgrades really make the side-quests that worthwhile, plus 305 shardes?! That alone forces you to explore.
Anyone purposely going down the "evil" path with Cole? I\'m opting for that with a second play-through with the increased difficulty.
-
I went good the first time as well on medium. I played the last one two times through as well. Having the two different sides makes it nice to play again.
And the UGC is pretty cool.
-
Any more thoughts on this game after more play-time?
Just finished the game on normal difficulty with the good karma ending, and have now started the bad karma journey on hard (which it is not very, at least so far).
Now I think this is a fantastic game on many levels, but it is not without it\'s mild shortcomings. The dead-drops added much needed story back-fill, but there could have had more, as I felt that the story was a little thin most of the time. Normally this doesn\'t bother me much, but I felt that the some of the side-quest and random encounters (abduction, hold-ups, etc.) were just too repetitive which really felt like filler particularity towards the end. I realize that the UGC was thrown in to add some variety, which at times it did, but I felt I was only obliged to play to get the associated trophy.
Again, great game, enough to make me want a second play-though, but a little more story to justify the playtime would play-time would have made it awesome.
Any rumours of any DLC?
-
I havent heard about any DLC, but I have a feeling no. The mission creator was their version of DLC so hopefully people will create some good missions in the future. I\'ve only done a couple of them so I dunno how good of missions theyll be. Theyll be fun when I\'m completely done with the game but i dont think they match the quality of a normal mission.
I\'m about 24% complete (according to the save menu at least. I dunno how far that is since that doesnt mean 24% of the storyline), but I\'m still loving it. I agree the little good/bad karma side missions are pretty repetitive, but other than that I havent really had any huge problems with the game.
I was skeptical of the new voice for cole, and the old cole was a lot better at narrating stuff, but I think his voice acting has been good for the regular cutscenes.
-
Yeah, I believe the percentage is reflected with the overall completion of both the good and bad karma story lines. I think my finished game save was something like 78%, and the second play-through started around 68%.
-
just did the bertrand the 3rd mission (think the one before you go to the next island
fucking loved it. Was like being in cloverfield but in infamous\'s universe
I let my nephew mess around running with cole, but i was bored and figured what was the harm in doing a mission and beating up a few bad guys (he seems to grasp reality vs fantasy well). But it ended up being a mission with one of those large monsters that has the shield over his mouth till he spits the stuff at you. He started backing away from the screen and was like \'I dont like that guy\' haha. my job as an uncle to give him some nightmares is complete. I didnt completely traumatize him though. I ended up turning it off and put ninja turtles on instead and he forgot about it
The upgraded ice powers are pretty awesome. I thought the ice grenade one would be really good and the jumping one and spraying icicles would be boring but it ended up being the complete opposite. Was fun as hell using the ice jump to get from roof top to rooftop to keep ahead of the thing
-
I just started playing the first one -_-
-
Just finished with the bad karma ending.....now that\'s how it should end!!!

Me either, I\'ll buy Infamous2 in 3-4 days, can\'t wait.

Need two trophies for the platinum, so just trying to get the one mission that I missed. Plus, when you finish the second time around, it unlocks both sets of abilities, but you have to repurchase the second set even if you have unlocked them the first time around. A little irritating to be forced to play the UGC as it\'s the only way to gain XP if you have finished all the side missions, and that was 15k XP worth of work-though on UGC for me ....ugh. Almost finished it though.
If you arc restrain a militia then wait on top of a building, pedestrians will swarm to him to look. Thunder-drop on them (can be up to 25), you get 25 XP for the drop, then 2 XP for each heal.
-
I have still to buy the game, too busy lately; so, is it a great Game ? Final thoughts ?
-
On my third play through (just to get 100 % completion), so I might be biased, but I would highly suggested that you get it.
-
I beat the good ending a few weeks ago. Loved the game. Easily the best game of the first half of this year. Even with the packed second half, itll probably be in my top 5.
Still need to do the evil ending and platinum the game, but I\'m taking a break and wanted to get through Resistance 2 before the third one comes out

Good ! going to buy it soon.
Resistance3 is very very interesting, I\'m smelling a stunning game ! previews are great.
And Zavi I would never think you are biased :D

Ok, it\'s a beautiful game, I\'ll give my final thought when all is completed.
-
It\'s a very funny game, I love the freedom in climbing everywhere, jumping, the open world, the combat system. It\'s a 9 from me.
-
Yeah, definitely a worthy purchase. I hadn\'t played the first one, so after completing the sequel I had to beat the original.
