Doesn\'t everyone in Japan already own this system?
December 8, 2000
December 8, 2000 was a big day in Japan. Sony\'s new model PS2, which features a DVD Remote control and updated DVD drivers went on sale, and was joined by the Game Boy re-release of the mega popular Dragon Quest III. So is it any wonder that the nation was struck with somewhat of a buying frenzy?
Famitsu.com is reporting that both items were popular enough to draw lines hours in advance at videogame stores in Tokyo\'s Akihabara, Ikebukuro and Shinjuku districts, and no doubt in other areas as well. The site mentions one store in particular, Shinjuku\'s Yodobashi Camera, as having 100 people lined up. The store ran out of the new PS2 systems by 1:00PM, although obtaining the Enix remake of Dragon Quest was a bit easier.
The site also mentions that many gamers were purchasing a PS2 system with a new 8Meg memory card (the system doesn\'t include this, as the DVD drivers are now hardware-based) along with Dragon Quest III for the Game Boy. Who says Japan doesn\'t celebrate Christmas?

SyxxKorn. You don\'t have to post a whole lotta news here. I\'m sure people can find their way to IGN by themselves. So let\'s reserve this forum for debates, ok?
-
Really though, you only need to post one topic, that says "Today\'s news!" but instead, you try to get your post count up. Sad.
Of course a game was easier to find. That newsource you got it from is obviusly biased towards Sony. ohterwise, they wouldnt have said that last DQ statement. A game, no matter what, will always have more availability than a console.
For example: I couldnt find a PS2 launch day, but you can bet I could find tons of Majoras Mask and Pokemon G/S, and Shenmue.

Yea, calm down on the posting please. Its not "your job". People can make it to IGN/CoreMagazine and other places. And that is dumb. Why the hell did they make a big deal out of a revision? Oh well. Who can understand the Japanese gamer--after all they do enjoy those annoying Bemani games.

strange how you were more concerned about me than the post itself... you could have PMed me ya know. Whenever there\'s a problem I have no problem fixing it.

get off his back he\'s doing fine, he posts intelligently. not retardily.

Actually, he doesn\'t post like an intelligent person. But, he also does not post like a fool. He\'s an "average
poster, IMO.

if you insist.

I think he has a lot of stupid and frivolous posts. It\'s worth it though, others (like me) get to argue with him. :D

That is correct EThugg, very fun to argue with :)
Why the heck would you buy that pack? It includes no memory crad that the previous one did not. But ooooh, a remote, whoopee.

I think that all your opinions are fair...
I can settle with those...

No memory card with the European PS2s. That sucks. PS, TTT should have came with the console too :D
