After all, he\'s basically W. Bush but in the "diet cola" form.

after all the hype with obama, i knew it\'d be more of the same..more specifically, the same bitching from the people.
politicians are politicians. and one person, even the president, isnt bigger than the shit pile that is our bureaucratic government bullshit that we have to put up with. so it doesnt really matter what a person says when theyre running since its all just blowing smoke up the voters asses and has no implication on whatever they do in office
I\'ve kind of gotten in the frame of mind that only propositions are worth voting for. would mccain really do any better? highly doubt it...
the main downside of more republicans in the house is that more stuff will get shot down and nothing will get done since theyre more focused on politics than helping the country.

I\'m with Viper, no matter who is in office, 50% of the country is going to bitch about it, and it\'s really annoying that the modern media loves to perpetuate the cycle.

Exactly. Only way I expect things to change is for me to hit the lottery

This is the point that all of us non whack jobs had before the election two years ago. The hype was ridiculous. Pellosi is the real fuck tard. Bah, they are all freaks.. It\'s impossible for anyone to get in there that can just say I don\'t give a shit about the lower class... And that\'s a shame..... [smiley tag]

^^^This!!!...sheeit..i\'m about to go play the mega millions now!!...and on a serious note, i\'m with viper, nothing is going to get done now...i don\'t necessarily agree with everything Obama\'s done, but he\'s had to make some tough decisions on the economy.
I think it makes sense to have to tougher regulations on Wall St. and on banks so things doesn\'t spiral out of control again...the repubs feel that he shouldn\'t put a stranglehold on the financial sector of the u.s. system.
Healthcare?...i don\'t feel it should be a mandate to for everybody to get ins...but i understand his logic...if everybody is on the plan paying into it, then overtime it will pay for itself since there are generally more healthy people than there are sick...and most states force you to get car ins...which nobody complains about and is much less significant than your health.
Lastly...i ultimately think his healthcare plan isn\'t going to work....before you can have a plan in the way that he\'s structured it, you have to have one important element in function...JOBS....when you have more people working then you have more folks able to pay for this thing....there\'s no way it going to work with unemployment just under 10%...he should\'ve put the healthcare plan on the backburner and foucused on jobs first...*end rant*

I\'ve actually been happy with Obama and the Dems\' progress in the last two years. Hopefully our gov\'t can still find something productive to do now that things have gotten all messy in Congress.

Bernie Sanders is my hero
Didn\'t feel like making a new thread to announce this though.

what did he do? (too lazy to google)

He pretty much called out everyone on the senate floor for 8 and a half hours.
