"British magazine PlayStation Official Magazine UK, "inside whispers" section says that the first three games in the series are "in the facelift queue," suggesting that Konami will be re-releasing the original trilogy in HD for the PlayStation 3."

If true, Metal Gear Solid will be joining the God of War, Prince of Persia, Sly Cooper, and the Team ICO franchises in getting an HD treatment for the PlayStation 3. If such a thing does come to pass, it will be the first time an HD collection includes a game not released for the PlayStation 2, as the original Metal Gear Solid was only available on the original PlayStation.
