We tried our best to keep this site alive, but now the end is very close; I can\'t open the archive anymore, and I can\'t revitalize old Threads which finished in the archive. Should I open again Threads that I and you already posted ? All is dead since a long time, no Mods, Admins, nobody seems to take care about PSX2 Central Forums apart from us, me, Zavijava, Viper, Titan, JBean, clips, GmanJoe, Living-In-Clip, Phil, Paul2, Nolaws, videoholic, fastson, THX, Cerberus, QuDDus, Kurt Angle, ajoh432, etc.

nothing seems different for me other than the domain name has expired. everything else still works.
in truth, these forums started "dying" the day the main site ceased to be. you can\'t expect a message board to thrive without the main site to fuel it, no matter how dedicated some members might be. it\'s a shame no one ever got the idea of relaunching it off the ground. I think had it happened, and we all got together to write reviews and shit like that, this place would still be active.
it doesn\'t help matters either not having any actual active admin. I think the only mod that comes here on any regular sort of basis is vid.
this will have been my 10th year as a member of these boards, by far the longest of any of the message boards I still frequent. shame it has come to this.

I would try, collecting info, previews, reviews, articles, pics, movies, etc, and re-build this site from ground up. Just I need to know how to start all this, and to have permission.

Now that I finally am employed too, I can afford games :) This site has always been a part of my life, logging in everyday to shoot the shit with you guys. I\'d love to carry this on into a new site and take some time out of my day to help out.

Let\'s do it, and I\'m ready to help. It would be great to bring new life to this site, and new members to debate, I just need to know how to start the process.

I\'m all for trying to get the whole thing up and running again, but I think it should be left to the gaffer to decide if he wants to continue or not before moving on.

This place has been dying for ages. mm used to live on here but then just suddenly stopped coming. Many times I check to see who is online when I\'m here and its usually me and a bunch of spam bots. Pretty sad really as that would never happen with a regular admin here to take care of things.

Without a doubt definitely. Whatever bjorn wants to do of course but if he says he wants to call it quits and not worry about it anymore, one of us should definitely take it up. Its definitely fucked up going behind his back and buying it without giving him the chance. He probably is just busy. Getting the domain is one thing but how would we transfer the forums though?

that\'s the thing, without the database, we\'ll lose everything
and then on top of that, there is the question of purchasing the latest forum software. we currently use v.3.5x, which I think is nearly 6 years old.

I got a message via PSN from Bizio. He cannot log in as he has a problem with his email but has heard back from Bjorn. He has no plans to bring back the site but will help us guys out if we want to continue with it.

I\'ve actually been giving this a lot of thought. I think instead of just letting the boards limp on, we should finally all pool our resources together and build a new playstation site like we talked about like 3 years ago. Make it interactive with users so they can contribute news, reviews, previews, etc. Guess mixing what the site used to be with new social networking. Just a thought. I have a job an all but I still have a lot of time that I can devote to doing work.

Muti console is another option too, we do have the sections in place already and it may attract new members. We need to wait for Bjorn to return from vacation and he will assist us as necessary to get started. He will let us have the forum database for starters. I have admined a vbuletin forum before so I do know my way around the admincp and such. I am not familiar with the hosting aspect though so that will have to be researched a bit.

I\'m all up for renewing the site and going multi console, if only to preserve what we have here. Hell I just checked, consolecentral.com is available... just sayin\'...
I\'ve done graphics mockups for all the planned rewamps of the site, both the forums and the main site, but things never really progressed further than that...

Only thing I think about a multiconsole site is that there are a lot of them. I personally think we should stay in the PS3 niche and stay true to our roots. This way we can focus 100% on content for one console and put out quality reviews, previews and news instead of stretching ourselves thin. My 2 cents :)
EDIT: I remember back when this site was out, there were a lot of Xbox, Nintendo and PS2 sites. Hell, I remember moderating one Nintendo site my friends started. They were plenty back in the day. However, within a few years, they all but disappeared. I noticed the internet today with social networking has become standardized. There aren\'t too many niche websites. With a quick Google search, I found one Playstation site buried like 3 pages in and it looked like shit. We have a lot of talent here where we can pool them together and bring back an old concept with a new twist. I think we should allow the users to create their own blogs, maybe have them allow profiles, submit reviews and previews which we can moderate and put on the site (the best ones of course). A completely new take on an old concept. And if its successful, we can open it up to other consoles. I think right now, we focus on one console.

I missed the expiration of the site, was a while ago I checked the forums. I do not have any intentions to make a new PS2/3/4 site, but if you guys would like to I can help you to get started if you wish to get the forum database or the contents of psx2central.
I am on vacation in Coratia this week and I just tried to log in and renew the site, but I think a very old mail address is used and I do not have that account info here (to retrieve log in info for my network solutions account)... so I will have to wait until Sunday to be able to renew the site.

Yep, and I think we need a leader to get started, the one who have more experience and can help the others to know how to work on it, with info, previews, articles, pics, movies, etc., and bring new life to the site. A team leader is needed, or 2...as you wish.

not really clued up on it to be honest, I know flat html/css and that\'s about it. wouldn\'t have the first idea on how to start.
if someone else manages to get it up and running, I wouldn\'t mind helping out in some way or other.
