Apart from playing with my Playstation3, I like to go in the gym, playing tennis, and ride my motorbike, which is close in my garage in Rome. In sept. I will have the chance to ride again for 2 weeks, then back to the place where I work. Can\'t wait.

I beat you to it, no pun intended :)
I mostly work now. Otherwise I usually, aside from video games, hang out with friends at night and play pool, bowl or whatever or I watch movies or hike and take photos. I\'m usually always busy. I\'d like to get into a bit of off roading sometime soon since I have no all terrains on my Jeep :)

I\'m very busy also with my job, and I became a father. I have 2 jobs now :)
Sometime I sleep few hours in the night, the baby wants to drink every 2-3 hours. Yesterday I came back home at midnight after the job, and I couldn\'t sleep untill 4.00. He\'s a beautiful baby, and he\'s not making much noise. Almost 1 month old, and more than 5 kilos.

Play guitar, hang out with mates. Thats about it.

I sleep a lot everyday. i sleep for like a total of 15 hours a day because of the medication i take i believe. When i wake up, i pace back and forth a lot though. i surf the internet, listen to music, watch a little tv. on some days, i went with my mom to the temple where i usually just pace back and forth there and eat some food if available. i guess i am just bored.
i lost interest on many things since February of this year. Oh well.

Piano, guitar, studying languages, gym, hiking, traveling, whatever. Being idle sucks.

Yes. Yes it does. Though I would love to get into some travelling. If I had the money, I\'d go on a couple road trips a year.

Well I\'ve finally found myself in a career that will allow me such things. Money is a curious thing. Sucks that it controls so much that happens in our lives. Sure, it doesn\'t buy happiness, but having none of it doesn\'t really bring joy either. This economy pretty much blows right now. I\'m fortunate to be part of a growing field. I did IT work for several years, but that seems to be going in the sh*tter these days. Now I\'m a Personal Trainer. It\'s a much more rewarding job, anyway... so I\'m thankful.

editing movies.
I\'ve been meaning to get into that, especially when I visit Japan next year. Do you have any recommendations for 1080p video cams?

Canon DSLRs. T2i is great. No one can tell the difference from the T2i from the more expensive Mark II. As long as you have the right lens.
-
I meant exclusive video recorders, not a camera with optional video recording, unless it\'s comparable to the prior. I was going to get a T2i soon anyway (big fan of the Rebel series), though. If it can suffice for both, that\'d be great... unless you know of something better in the prosumer range. I\'ve been researching this with mixed opinions though. Guess I won\'t really know until I try them myself. >_>
-
I\'ve been playing with the T3i for a while now. video recording on the dslr is a pain in the ass. It\'s nothing you are going to just go around and shoot pretty stuff with. Plan on just shooting wide shots because follow focus is pretty tough to do.
Stills though for a cheap camera it\'s great. The glass that comes with it blows monkey nuts though. I desperately want a wide angle lens. I have the 2.8 70x200 which is phenomenal. I also have the doubler for it which throws me into 5.6, but during the day I can still get good shutter speeds for baseball.
What lenses do you have GMan? Do you have a wide angle? Because it\'s not a full frame camera you lose so much on the wide side. But the money you save on the camera you can throw at glass which is why I did it.

I have a T1i now, but I agree... shooting video on it is a bit of a pain in the ass

Yeah... I\'ll look for a cam that\'s sole purpose is video recording. Thanks for the warning.

A number of movies have had scenes shot with DSLR cameras, even Harry Potter.
The plus side is that these Canons are even better than R3D cameras in low light. Heck, more and more TV shows are shot with DSLRs today.
-
name a show....
Commercials, yeah. Shows, no.
I mean there may be some shots here and there, but no show is shot with DSLR that I know of.
And as far as Harry Potter being shot on a DSLR, I highly doubt it. The compression on them is HUGE. I could see a RED or an Alexa, but not a canon. Just because there is a DSLR camera seen on the set doesn\'t mean it\'s being used in the production. They shoot so much behind the scene footage nowadays for DVDs. the DSLRs are great for that.

House
Fringe
Monk
The Leverage
I know this for a fact since I got to practice editing some of their scenes. B shots had the canons in frame before the actors started their lines.
I also know that they used the Mark IIs in that last Terminator movie where the cameras were destroyed during the explosions. As long as the memory cards were fine, they were willing to sacrifice a perfectly good camera.
-
Well that\'s cool. They must be using prime lenses though. Slow moving stuff like that would look fine. Fast action looks terrible though. I\'m dying to get the 14mm prime. God that would look so fucking cool.
-
The rig to hold the cameras cost more than the cameras itself. Red Rock Micro is fantastic....but....cost over $1000 just for the basic stuff.

7D. Enough said. Its a beast of a camera. Want to get the 5D. I\'m waiting for news on the Mark III. Though rumor has it Canon has something serious up their sleeve. And Gman, you are kinda off by what you said. The T2i has a smaller sensor so someone who edits photos all day or shoots on both can probably tell the difference in detail. You get better detail with a full frame camera and low light capabilities are better. The sensors in the T2i and T3i are the exact same as my 7D. But my 7D I have taken through a blizzard whereas a Rebel will fry.
A lot of shows that have shot with DSLRs were here and there and mostly to show off the capabilities of DSLRs today. House did an episode or 2 but as far as the series being shot on DSLRs, that\'s not the case. However, more and more independent movies are being shot on them.

Hehe! T2i and Mark II....both using high quality glass, you will NOT be able to tell one from the other as long as they shoot at full 1080p. Many have already tried and failed. As for taking still photos, that\'s different. :)
I got a chance to see the conference today about the new Mark III. It\'s going to be listed at $20,000. :( And it will be called the EOS C300. Will be able to shoot at 2K and 4K (yep, it\'s up there with the R3D camera). There will be no camera in the world that can compete with it in low light. It will require very little lighting and you will get vivid detail.
That\'s all for now. I have to finish some work. :)

Way too much text. I\'m not reading all that.

I\'m more interested in good glass now. That makes such a huge difference.
Here is some of the stuff I have posted. My new camera and lens would only be the last 5 months.
