...The new PS3 will be available in two different models, with 250GB and 500GB HDDs. A newly added 12GB flash memory model will be also initially released in Europe. It also features a smaller design - approximately 20% smaller and 25% lighter than the current PS3.

I read that a few days ago. It seems very cheap to me and they are cutting costs as much as possible while making as much money off it as possible before they release the PS4. Though they did this both with the PSX and PS2 so I\'m hardly suprised. Would be nice if they added something to it. Nah. i\'ll just stick to my PS3 Slim. Worked great for me, even though I had to replace the laser.

yeah, i prefer the look of the original ps3, even the ps3 slim one before this has the slot loading which is cool.  the original ps3 has the coolest look, while the ps3 slim looks all right, and this sure looks the cheapest of the bunch.

whoa, at 250 GB and 500 GB HDD, that has as much storage as some low to mid-end laptops.

do you guys think it would have been better if they just keep the storage capacity of 160 GB and 320 GB, but reduce the price tag more?  as low as possibly $200 for the 160 GB model or close to it and $250 for the 320 GB model?

I think I\'d buy one if my current slim ever jacks in, having said that, the one I have now doesn\'t get played that much.

I should reserve judgement until I see one in person, but... that\'s ugly.

It\'s like they took the george foreman grill jokes to heart and thought they were a compliment...

My old ps3 still live but the fan can get really noisy. Unless it dies, iI won\'t change it until ps4 just out!

Nice to see this forum and all three old timers still alive!

Mine died a few years ago.  So I have the last model.  This one is getting terrible reviews though.  Time to go to PS4!!!

Just a shame PS4 won\'t be backwards compatible. Not that I expected them too. If they did then they couldn\'t squeeze the last bit of life out of their older consoles and make money off them. Either way, instead of slim models of the current generation, just come out with the details for the new consoles so I can start getting excited and fork over my hard earned money.
