no free multiplayer by the looks of it, which sucks balls. I rarely play my PS3 these days, so I\'m not entirely sure I am prepared to throw money away on an MP subscription that will most likely be underused.
without multiplayer, the prospect of actually buying a PS4 looks decidely more unappealing than it did before.
makes me glad to have joined the ranks of PC gamers even more now.

Thought the Sony conference was pretty damn good. Really was surprised at how direct they were with shitting on MS, but I suppose if you have the goods to do it, go for it.
The online sub was really the only negative aspect. I\'ve always liked that about the PS3. But on the bright side its only 5$ a month and the free games that come with it will make it worth the price.

I was laughing real hard when they were shitting all over Microsoft. Was gonna give Xbox One a go but hearing I had to be online and the issues with the used games, not to mention its 500 and a glorified cable box, I\'ll pass.
I watched the conference mostly for the Destiny reveal (and to see the conference). My poor girlfriend had to sit through 2 hours of the conference for me to see the gameplay. It looks sick as hell though.
Oh, and cloud, I have plans in the works to bring PSX2Central to PSX4Central. Working on getting ownership from Bjorn at the moment so pop by :)

I dunno. I imagine is per account, not necessarily per unit. I can sign in on any PS3 and go to town downloading games and stuff.

Sony slammed MS so incredibly hard it\'s hilarious...:laughing:....it\'s true that used game fees are around, but Sony is being smart in saying that if there are fees, it will be from the dev\'s and publishers...not them.
The dev\'s and publishers were the folks that was pushing this thing with the used games fees all along and i understand why, but it\'s silly,...what MS is doing as far as you sharing games with friends and other restrictions tho, is strickly something MS is doing to have complete control over the consumer.
Sony won alot of MS customers with not locking used games or having games tied to your account...just give the games to your friends and family freely (it\'s absurb that we even have to look at this as some type of luxury)...but then there was the price...$399....Sony has truly learned their lesson from the arrogance they displayed concerning the ps3.
Paying for online is a no-brainer and i saw this coming....sony was absorbing alot of the maintenance costs by having free online and with them being in the red for most of the ps3\'s life, they are going to have to recoup some of those losses and it keeps the the ps3 price down by having this subscription...it\'s really not different from xbox live in that sense and people pay that with no problem...
I think totals to about $60 a year which isn\'t that bad...

Agreed. And for Xbox Live I think its more than 60 a year. Sony truly did learn from their past lessons and I fully agree. I like reading comments on gaming websites about long time Microsoft supporters actually saying they are going to Playstation this generation because of M$\'s stranglehold on the gamer. A lot of them also feel like M$ is abandoning them. They are going for the everyday household and not appealing to the gamer. Not only that, but it seems the tables have flipped. M$ is going for a very complicated console that is 500 for what is equivalent to a cablebox that happens to play games. Where as Sony is going for simplicity and has only the gamer and the game developers in mind 100%. Not to mention the PS4 is more powerful and cheaper (they are definitely taking a huge loss on this one).
When I saw the conference, they went a little into the media stuff the PS4 can do. Doesn\'t seem much different than the PS3. What I liked what Sony did was touch up on it, but they are all about the games. Whereas M$ is like "look at all the media stuff you can do. oh yeah, and by the way, you can play games on it too. Just don\'t buy used or else you give us money.....and make sure you check in once a day." M$ is definitely gonna get their asses raped this generation.

I\'m still debating whether to get it around launch or not. Supposedly the presales are sold out. If that\'s the case and with holiday shopping, I probably won\'t get it until January or February.

Lucky. I\'m gonna wait a couple months to get it. I want to get a launch model but the games coming out at launch isn\'t enough for me to get it right away. Plus I\'m backlogged on PS3 games right now, lol. I\'m most likely getting it in January or February. Definitely before Destiny is released.

Oh yeah still keeping my ps3. Still have GTA V to play and a few others I want to finish. I\'m a trophy whore, I think I\'m up to 1,286 or 1,287 now. A lot of time and games.

GTAV looks pretty badass but i got such a backlog of games right now i think im gonna wait until christmas to get it. Plus im waiting for beyond two souls to come out

Its pretty good. The graphics are so much smoother than GTA 4 and better looking too. My Preorder Atomic Blimp code wont work though and it seems lots of other have the same issue.

for me, it is the best one so far, but for me, it's clear that they are pushing the limits of what can be done this gen.
me personally, I have not had that great an experience with it so far, I have been getting terrible frame rates, as well as very pronounced stuttering intermittently. one minute, it can be great, no problems whatsoever, but the next second, the frame rate drops, and starts stuttering, which is causing an annoying sensation of lag.
at first, I thought it was the game, but after reading through comments, no one is experiencing it as bad as I am. I am not expecting 60fps or anything like that, but I 'd expect to get a lot more than I am, and NO STUTTERING.
I'm beginning to think it might be my PS3 in its old age.
I've tried various things to fix it so far, but none of them have worked.
any suggestions as to what else it might be, I'm all ears.

imo, your console is overheating. Big problem with ps3s, they use shit thermal compound that dries up and turns to crap. Mine crapped out because of it, i just haven't bothered to repair it.

I was doing research for a coworker because his PS3 is making weird noises (and if its fixable, we wants me to fix it). On a lot of videos, people are complaining of similar issues with poor performance.

It'll probably be awhile before i get this....I've still got to get "Remember Me", Tomb Raider, Last of Us and Beyond..two souls....after that i', looking into getting that new splinter cell and puppeteer...

You've still got to get Last of Us? Damn dude. Get on it. Such an amazing game. Beyond Two Souls is one I've been watching. Would like to get it on launch but I just don't really have the money to get it and GTAV right now. Besides, I'm backlogged on games. Still working on Tomb Raider, Force Unleashed, bought Ghostbusters for like 4 bucks and LA Noire (love the coupons GameStop sends me :) ). And that new Shadow Warrior looks great. Why are there so many great games but no time :(

I picked up GTA 5 last Sunday. It looks fantastic, and I like the gameplay. My framerate seems perfectly fine, and I haven't experienced any slowdown. I haven't really played all that much though.. A few hours or so :P

I couldnt wait. I got Beyond. Its a hell of a game. I try to play like 20/30 minutes then next thing I know 3 hours went by. The story is so captivating my girlfriend is getting into it and she usually sleeps when I play games. When I play without her she asks what she missed and wants details.
