Japanese game site CCB Game Review has stumbled upon quite the exciting bit of info in a recent interview with one of the higher-ups from Sony Computer Entertainment. Apparently, SCE has a surprise announcement planned before the end of the year. The site suggests that the announcement, which could be a new game, may be made at an event being held in Tokyo later tonght (12/12 in Japan).
Is there really something to look forward to here, or is Sony going to announce another silly peripheral (wee ---- a DVD remote!!!)? If anything is revealed tonight, you\'ll hear it here tomorrow.
I hope its a new RPG like Legend of Dragoon 2 or Wild Arms 3 or a completely original game or new series.
-
And it better be comming to the US.. Well most things do.
I agree, I hope its some new revolutionary new RPG or something..
Well, definetly going to be hearing about this later on today.
-
I\'m with ya there. WA3 or Lod2 would ROCK!!!
But I\'d be happy with a pre-Christmas (US) release of Dark Cloud:)
-
That does indeed sound very interesting! :)
This also makes me think... What about all the games we haven\'t heard about yet? We seem to know \'roughly these games will come out in 2001\'. But there are bound to be many surprises and gems we know nothing about right now! That\'s how it was on PSX anyway so I don\'t suspect it to
be any different this time around. I think we\'ll see lots of great games. :)
-
....I thoroughly enjoyed Jumping Jack. That was a new concept. Never have I felt scared of falling down...while sitting on my living room floor. :)
I\'d love a 3rd sequel!
-
Sony and 2nd party naughty dog were working on another 2nd party title. They said it would include "flowing realistic hair" I don\'t know what it will be, but It probably won\'t be stupid like fantavision. I heard that Syphon filter 3 would include NEW character revisions (like 3d faces)
-
Heyheyhey, don\'t down Fantavision, it\'s one of the best games ever made! :)
Yaah... intewesting... well we\'ll see whatsit all \'bout tomorrow then :)
And oh yeah, I can\'t wait for the game featuring "Flowing realistic hair" in the leading role. I\'ve always been interested in hair. Cousin It from Addams Family is one of my all time fave characters. Hair is also a decent musical. I also have hair on my head. Go hair go!
"Guide the realistically flowing hair through the hairy maze in the given time limit. Avoid the scissors and spinning blades. Destroy all evil realistically flowing moustache."
"No hairs were split or harmed during the making of this game."
Blah :p

Yeah, I read an interview with ND in PSM or OPM or some magazine. They said that their "secret" game is going to blow us away.
Who knows?! Maybe they are just pimping their wares, but I hope they are speaking the truth:)
-
Thanks I stole your idea. I am working on getting it copyrighted, and already working on it on my PC with directX8. heheh Thanks again ;)
-
They also called Lorne Lannig and oddworld a bunch of babies. They said that Innovation comes with hard work. But once again Microsoft stifles innovation for the sake of money. I sense Money in the Oddworld deal. They also paid oddwolrd to give sony some bad press to turn some heads. But it doesn\'t look like it worked, and oddworld blew it\'s public image.
-
Damn you! I was supposed to send it off to Square as a game idea! :) Good luck with the game, it\'ll do well for sure, after all, I came up with the idea *cough* :p *cough, cough, choke*
-
Hawke, is Fantavision really good?
I have seen only bad reviews about it... but I love that kinda games, so please do tell :)
Well, I\'m waiting forward for Sony\'s next game. What will it be?
-
I\'ll put it this way :
Fantavision is the single most exhilarating, fun, colourful, enraging (well actually, you can\'t get mad playing this, the fireworks have an odd, soothing, calming effect), rewarding experience that two people can enjoy together without taking mind-expanding drugs.
I\'ve read good reviews also. EDGE (known for their tough reviews) scored it a smashing 8 out of 10. I\'d give it a 9 probably. The 2 player mode is a real blast. Somehow the single player mode manages to lure me in too, time and time again... and yeah, in replay mode you can halt the action when the rockets have just exploded and fly through the explosions. Utterly pointless this? Yup. But... prettiness, aahhh, one more fly through those beeeautiful particles thank you :p
One fantabuloustic game if you like puzzle games :)

yea this does sound interesting to me too.
I hope that its something to do with a new rpg or may be the annoucement of a sure release of internet capabilites
What ever it is it better be cool - not some lame game that i already know about.
-
I would love to see another CHrono game...
-
I wander what it is.
Could it be .....no...it cant....or can it...?
-
Just go look at IGN again. It was just two weird games that I have absolutely no interest in.
-
No "flowing realistic hair" on these games.
Still not revealed.
What that game could be....
-

I\'d have to agree. AE2 is rumored for a late 2001 release, so now is the perfect time to release info on it.

Innovation does not mean reinventing the wheel, there is a difference. :)
Would you rather walk in the snow for 20 miles or would you rather drive a nice warm car? I think this is what Lorne was trying to say.

APE ESCAPE 2 weeeeeee yipeeeeeeee please sony don\'t let me down !! Now I\'ll will open my self up for many many flames. Although different Ape Escape was every bit as metal gear solid, and dare i say it... more challenging and original !!
Flame away \'cause I don\'t care
The apes are coming, with flowing realistic hair
Flame away \'cause I don\'t care
The monkey will have more realistic hair than Rick Flair
Flame away \'cause I don\'t care
The monkeys were smarter than a genome soldier in despair
Flame away \'cause I don\'t care
And to the sheer fun factor, no game will compare !!!!
the end

You are sure an Ape Escape Maniac.
