Title: Would you ever sell your game collection.....
Post by: Titan on December 17, 2013, 02:09:30 PM
To help pay for PS4 or any next gen console?

I for one still have every game and console since I got my NES. There is something about having them all hooked up to my TV (except for my PSX (which I have a PS2) and NES which is broken  :( ). I find myself every now and then playing the old consoles, especially with popular games that bring back nostalgia for me and my friends. Plus, I know I can redownload and old game on newer consoles in HD glory but if I'm gonna play a retro or older game, I'm gonna play it the way it originally was intended, popping in the cartridge, blowing on it if need be, clunky controls and awkward controllers and everything. I just can't justify selling off a collection or a device that has brought me so many memories, good and bad.

I have friends who will trade in games or sell them for not even a quarter of what they paid for credit or cash. I don't see it worth it. To me, my game collection is a source of pride. I like displaying it (and even my broken launch PS2) on my shelf. Plus, who knows when I'll be in the mood to play one  :headbang:

I usually just throw mine away in dumpsters in neighborhoods less fortunate than mine.

I've thought about selling off some of my PS3 collection that I 'm sure i'll never play again while it's still has some value. Mostly because it will just gather dust otherwise and that seems wasteful. Not to GameStop though, I'd sooner see them melted.
