Title: Deaf Japanese Composer Admits He's Not Quite Deaf

Mamoru Samuragochi, the acclaimed deaf composer credited for the scores of Resident Evil Director's Cut and Onimusha: Warlords who recently admitted a ghost composer had been writing his music for nearly two decades, has also admitted he isn’t entirely deaf anymore, either...

...Following Samuragochi’s confession last week, part-time music school teacher Takashi Niigaki has been revealed as the actual composer behind Samuragochi’s best-known works. Additionally, Niigaki asserted he does not believe Samuragochi is, in fact, deaf.

“I’ve never felt he was deaf ever since we met,” said Niigaki during a press conference, via ABC News.

“We carry on normal conversations. I don’t think he is (handicapped).

“At first he acted to me also as if he had suffered hearing loss, but he stopped doing so eventually.”

Dubbed as Japan’s Beethoven, Mamoru Samuragochi’s 2003 Symphony No.1, Hiroshima brought him a great deal of acclaim, thanks in part to the appearance he composed it while deaf. This and 20 other pieces were actually the work of Takashi Niigaki.

what an unusual story there.

Well then. Can't imagine how anyone can do all the work for someone else while they get all the glory for 20 years can deal with that. Maybe the checks were juicy enough. Well good that this is out. Now the real composer can get credit where credit is due.

And not to be picky paul, but this really should be in general gaming discussion  :nono:
