OK I am guilty, I was one of the many that didn't buy....but after completing it thanks to Playstation Plus I am very much impressed.
It was a nice fitting end to the trilogy, with only a couple of minor concerns with the game.
1. The Shared Ammo count did mean that I wasn't scrounging for supplies for my favourite weapon, but it did take some of the challenge out of the game. Very few times I was forced to go hand to hand, which kind of took some of the tension out of the game.
2.The gun crafting system was good...but the ability to buy resource packs and epic gun parts,,,made it feel a bit like pay to win.
Other than that it was a solid title, with GFX that showed that the PS3 has enough power to be viable console.
Now playing the addon pack Awakening, whichc like the main title is mighty fine.
So...... has anyone else tried co-op?
Not Tried it yet ....and Would like to get Caver's story.

I'm into playing coop. Have you played awakened yet? Was supposed to set up for Dead Space 4.

Word. Let me know when you want to play. Carvers story is good.

I never got the DLC "Awakening", but I thought the main campaign was done well and the game itself plays well and has strong art direction and design. I'm hoping to see Dead Space 4 for next gen tho...

You'll be waiting a while clips. Dead Space is on hiatus. It didn't do as good as EA hoped and Visceral is working on a Star Wars game slated for movie release. If you played the dlc they leave you on a serious cliff hanger and you just want to know what happens. So they better make another.

Yeah..i read about what happened at the end of the DLC and how the outbreak has spread to earth....i wasn't really big on the story revelation concerning the source of the Markers being a planet that is fully aware, so it'll be interesting to see how they handles this without "jumping the shark".
I would have preferred the whole generic advanced alien species over the entire planet plot-device though. I understand they wanted to try something different, but a self-aware planet is reaching and ran the risk of making the storyline a bit hokey and ridiculous...still i loved DS3 overall.
