I\'m seriously. Have you seen the complete crap they\'re throwing at us? I doubt that they even thought about making a decent game for us. Maybe they got wrapped up in the hype.
Or am I completely wrong and some people think they\'re gods??

I\'m with you dude. I have never liked any 989 sports game. I just don\'t see how somebody could choose Gameday over Madden.

I gotta agree with you on this one. 989 is no match for EA. EA pretty much beats them in all aspects of their sports titles. Now as for their 1st gen GameDay on PS2......hell it looks as if they didn\'t do anything to change it from its PS1 version. I think Sony need to revamp 989, it really needs a face lift.

Hmm, Syphon Filter was probably my favoirte psx game so I would have to say: no, I don\'t agree with you that 989 sucks.

Syphon Filter was good. But I\'m talking primarily about their sports games. I think they are absolutely pitiful compared to EA\'s stuff.

Shuhei Yoshida-san who was recently appointed VP of 1st party development and he said he wasn\'t a big fan of many of 989\'s games so THAT should tell you something.Next-Gen had an interview with him (the issuse with Crash on the cover).He says he doesn\'t want Sony\'s 1st and 2nd party developers rushing games out (Gameday 2001 was probably the expection since they needed something out and Yoshida-san said Red Zone got a really late start in PS2 development) and said that 989 only have a year to do there projects which could explain the lack of quality in 989 titles compared to EA\'s.He also said Sony have alot more 1st and 2nd party titles in development than we really know about (Wild Arms 3,Legend of Dragoon 2 or Ape Escape 2 any one :) ).He said they got 30 titles in development right now and thats not even including titles being developed in Japan and Europe!!!Well after reading that interview I have great confidence that Yoshida-san will push Sony 1st and 2nd party titles to near or equal Nintendo and Sega quality within the next few years.

989 should concentrate more on games like syphon filter from the start..leave the sports to EA or Namco/Konami.

989 Programmers should be shot for the POS that is Gameday2001.

I hate 989! They ruined the greatest series of all time! Twisted Metal! TM3, that POS came out and really made me mad! And 4 was even worse!!! errggghh!
Then they rereleased TM2 under the greatest hits label in THEIR NAME!!!! That really bugs me! I am so glad SinglTrac has got the series back as 989 is a bunch of incompetent losers.

Yea I think their sports games are HORRIBLE, the graphics are bad and the gameplay is even worse. But yes, Syphone Filter 1 and 2 were good.

I\'m not sure I agree with that. Take away 989 Sports, and EA has less competition, which would lead to less quality in the overall sports lineup for the console.

989, heh, they took the PSX version Gameday 2001 and burned it on the New PS2 CD\'s. Those ****ers, rushing games out before X-mas. No respect of mine goes to 989 ****-ios.

Also, the other thing I had been thinking about...
Remember how Sony kinda "forced" 989 into itself, after 989 busted out from Sony\'s shell? I think they ate 989 in order to keep EA Sports happy. Just makes sense since 989 couldn\'t tell a football from a fruit shake.
Those who are saying Syphon Filter was fun, granted it was for a while, but it turned into a "prissy" Tomb Raider game with more weapons. Those kinda games need a shot to the ass in order for them to EVER be fun again.

989 sucks because it seems that they just don\'t care I mean EA is like light years ahead of them it ain\'t even funny. I mean Gameday its a joke how much better Madden is than this. Gameday used to be good with 98 and 99 than they just fell off. The same goes with the other sports games like Shootout, and Faceoff. Its just bull**** I think they should take some time off and go back to what they were doing in the past. Because the crap their putting out now just isn\'t worthy of the Playstation2.

Which those two games weren\'t developed in house at 989. They were just published by 989. The games they did develop, suck monkey balls. However, Gameday and their sports games were up to par in the 32 bit era with Madden. Apparently, they forgot the PS2 isn\'t 32 bits when the made Gameday 2001. A little more time, maybe Gameday would\'ve been great. But, apparently, they didn\'t give themselves anytime. So, yes, I believe 989 sucks.
