I think Sony is pulling a major scam here. They say that they only got 500,000 out on October 26th due to Graphics Processor shortages/malfunctions. But, I think that was just an excuse to hype the machine up more than it already is. Believe me,
, but i think Sony has PS2s floor to ceiling in some warehouse somewhere. I have noticed recently that stores have been getting alot of them recently. I was able to pick up 2 yesterday at my local GameStop/Babbages. I think Sony is pumping them out in the 12 Days of Christmas so they don\'t lose the money. it\'s all a scam i tell ya. But, I love my console, and now I have 2 extra to make some profit. Happy Holidays fellow PS2ers!

sony shipped 100,000 every week after launch, thats why
-
exactly, they had all of those PS2s somewhere in a warehouse and used the 500,000 excuse to hype the system up. Know what I really hate? I hate the people who buy like 10 PS2s and sell them for rediculous prices on auction sites. Those ****ers should think about the little Eleven year olds who won\'t be getting one under the tree because of these assholes. I remember when i was 11 and I had my SNES and they were easily obtainable from K-Mart. Know there is so much bull**** with these systems. But, i do have to admit, sitting outside freezing my ass off at 4:30 in the morning was fun, especially meeting all the otehr people. All of these thoughts are just my thoughs, so dont waste your time flaming me.

those "Rediculously" high prices are now only about 450 dollars.... they were over 1000

I\'ve seen higher than 450 just a few minutes ago. Anyway, Chrono, i like your little animation :).

How did you afford to buy 3 PS2 -consoles? :)
You\'re a bad man. Now two children didn\'t get their one console! World-wide rule should be that just one PS2 per customer until there are more units in the shops :)
just kidding...

LoL Little Green Man, but I have a pretty high paying job, and I sold those 2 other PS2s to my Brothers for their kids. So, technically there are 2 happy kids on Christmas morning, along with me with some new PS2 games and accessories. :)

Oh yeah SOny just decided it needed to short change all the willing buyers out there during the biggest videogame buying portion of the year .... Christmas.
Sony also failed to ship units knowing full well developers would love to sell software to a million less possible customers.
and I guess you haven\'t been following the PS2 cause its been hyped up for well over a year before launch SOny just needed to get the systems out to customers.
ANyone who thinks Sony purposely shot themselves in the foot this Christmas to produce more hype needs to re-think the situation quite a bit. Under 0 circumstances does SOny\'s failure to meet demand have any positive re-procussions, it just means SOny has to work even harder to make there projected Targets

Sony is missing a big market-hole here. The big presents are bought in Christmas!
You won\'t be buying PS2 after X-mas; that\'s for sure. \'Tho if you save your wish then you may :)
But, ok; you\'re a good man, Matt :) You weren\'t greedy and you didn\'t keep all consoles for yourself ;)
Glad. I was about to... get angry ( nah ) <-- kidding again

Currently the average end bid for a PS2 on eBay is $450. Mine just sold for $455.

I guess they figured it would be more in demand this way.
