That's right! I've been looking for my own place for the last year. Started off the journey looking for a rental with a couple friends. That didn't work out and decided to buy my own place, as mortgages are cheaper than rent and some sweet tax breaks. Plus, the unit is mine and I can do whatever I want to it, which is the number 1 draw. This actually explains my absence here for a while and I apologize. But searching, looking for things for the place and general housing research and stuff takes up a lot of my free time.
Any who, earlier in January, I found a condo for sale in my number 1 location. When I first started my journey last year, my friends and I were looking for rentals in this town in NJ which is known as a hub for young professionals (so there are single girls a plenty). Problem when I started to buy is the condos are hella expensive. Even to rent a studio apartment runs about 1400 a month. But, I found an affordable unit just on the outskirts of that town right down the street from the main drag, put in for it and was accepted. So now I'm just waiting on the contract and getting everything in order. So in a month, if all goes well, Titan will be a proud homeowner :wav:
As I start doing things to the place after closing, I'll post pictures and progress and stuff.

Went into attorney review today. Then it hit me, this shit is for realzies. Exciting and scary at the same time
-
what is realzies? i just google that word and it says people who smoke real marijuana?
-
The phrase is "for realzies".
For Realzies
Added to the end of a sentence or statement to express that you are serious as hell.
forrealzies
Seriously, really, or honestly in the most epic way ever.

i see. cool. congratulations then. going to wait to see you post pictures of it.

Believe me. I'm definitely going to be. Place looks like it's in good shape. But will know for sure when I get the inspector in. Otherwise, I'm trying to figure out the painting situation. Place is white now but it's generally a good idea to paint a house when you move in. Plus, I want to let some of my creativity out. Plan is to paint and over the next few months or so build some of my own furniture. Definitely want to build a platform bed (already have the plans), my dining table and maybe some end tables for the couch and some shelving. The rest of the furniture I'll likely buy.

don't misunderstood. my english is not that good and i am a mediocre speaker. what i meant when i say going to wait to see you post pictures of is that i will or going to wait to see pictures of it after you taken it and posted it. by that i kind of mean can't wait to see pictures of your new house. hopefully i clear up the miscommunication. :)

I know what you meant paul ;) I've seen you post long enough to decipher your gibberish :p

Things are progressing very nicely. My loan application is in final approval and should be getting the commitment soon. Also have the home inspection this week and my lawyer is doing the title search. As of right now, I should be closing on March 15th, which means I can move in that day :D

awesome work dood. Nothing better then owning a part of the real estate pie. :wav:
Even better when you can mod your house and do whatever the f@#k you want to it. :headbang:

I'm planning on walking around naked. Nothing will be better than my bare ass cheeks on my couch.

I know you'd like that paul. That's why I'm not. My prestine body is too good to do the rounds on the internet.
Anywho, had the inspection yesterday. No major issues. Most of the things I need to fix are minor and can be done with basic tools. Only thing I need to tear apart is the dryer because there was a big ball of lint behind the drum that the owner couldn't get out. She said she was going to toss it, but I told her to leave it and I'll monkey with it. Just need the mortgage commitment and the final closing date. Hopefully within two weeks!

lol. sound good. :)

Closing is now officially the 15th. Though my state is supposed to get whalloped with a snow storm. Fingers crossed the fat bastsrd who our governor is doesn't shut the state down.

I closed today. Got delayed a couple times. Once because of the snow storm and once because the sellers didn't get the inspection done. But, I officially own the place and will be doing work tomorrow :) I'll post pics of my progress.
