Looking at the new PlayStation VR headset (model CUH - ZVR2), we that its headphone jack has been moved from the wire hanging from the headset to the back of the unit. There's also a thinner connection cable to the PS4. It's upgraded Processor Unit also makes HDR passthrough possible.

If it's releasing in Japan on the 14th, it will definitely hit the US before Christmas.

Is the VR headset worth getting?
Is there enough content around it for the price?

Personally, I'm not seeing too much to get excited for. From what I see online, it's pretty cool and has potential to change the game of gaming, but there just isn't enough for me to make the 300+ investment in the technology right now. When AAA titles start developing for it, I'll dig deep in my savings. But for now, the games out seem to have more of a novelty factor. But the decision is up to you. Go into a store and test it out. If you like the games that are out for it, or they interest you, go for it if you can afford it. I'm still getting a newly purchased condo in order so money is tight for me right now :)
