Of those 350 developers some have never been used, and since Sony has stated that they want all 350 developers to start making games, since they have issue out new kits for all of them..
Can u imagine all the unknown games we don\'t know about, we may fall in love with some great new companies soon. Sony will be creating another giant developing company soon.
Damn, just imagining what these small developers may come up with.
What are there names.
I\'ve heard of one "Seudo"
-
of those 350 developers most of them are 3rd parties like Komnami, Namco, Square, EA, THQ etc.......
Of those 350 developers maybe 20 or so are SOny 1st party studios, and 2 Sony 2nd parety studious Naughty Dog and Insomniac.
Yes we have not seen the majority of games being developed for the PS2, but my bet is a solid portion of those 350 developers will develope crap compared to the gems the big boys will put out. The strange thing is there are alot of people out there that purchase these titles. XBox will have a similiar fate with there high count of 3rd party developers, it attracts the masses but kind of shoots the quality ratio in the foot.

here\'s hoping we see a little known developer make a game that gets everyone excited, maybe there is a "Singletrac" hopeful in there...yea!

Yeah, maybe that company will be the biggest developer of all time....
But Double D, I think these new developers may surprise us.

It\'s good that sony is making it easier for them with better dev tools, but most of these games will be Japanese ones that never see the states

Well that is the beauty of having alot of developer support. If only one real gem comes out from all those "Unknows" or "Small" developer houses its still worth it. I think we will see a few new names emerge in the console business over this next generation. The next Konami, Square, EA is out there, all a small developer has to do is wow us with a unique gem, and the money will pour in for them, if they re-invest in themselves and don\'t turn out to be a "1 hit wonder" then like I said the next major developer could be born. Add to it the market is going to expand we will see the birth of a few new major developers

350 developers.... that\'s gonna kick @$$!!! I am sure that the light of ps2 games are near, very very near!

like I always say
sony is not going to sit back and twidle their thumbs and pick their nose...
If the excuse of making games is hard is gone... then the ps2 will have more support then it needs :)

To be honest its not necessarily SOny who is making it easier, its SOny\'s willingness to open the platform to alot of companies who are developing tools for Sony. Sony really never had any other choice but its the best way to go. Allowing many people to work with the PS2 hardware is bound to create many different apporaches and each dev. tool or developer will build off all the new knowledges and so forth.
Sony pretty much told everyone to run with it, and this is a major reason why the PS2 developers will get up to speed quickly. SOny incoporates alot of these tools into there update dev kits while other liscense their own tools out.
