"Furthermore, the system in Japan is only selling 3,000 units a month and that is even more disturbing as third party publishers scramble to make money."

ROFL!!!

I\'d be pretty skeptical. That number alone sounds fishy. From a purely cynical viewpoint it would just be bad publicity.

I think this "announcement" has to be taken with a grain of salt.  Gamespy is primarily a PC gaming site.  The only other PS2 story I found there was also negative regaurding the PS2(a quote from an NBC story of poor sales).

I\'m a PC gamer as well as a PS2 owner.  But from what I have experienced, I think this is just another example of the PC gamers latent disdain for console game platforms (e.g. latching on to a negative stories).

What if it is true, then what?  It isn\'t such a big deal right?  It\'s not like if he\'s fired then PS2 will die.  What\'s the big deal?  He\'s just one God...er man!

Yeah this whole story reeks of internet journalism.

The only reason IMO there was a drop in PS2 sales last month was because the new PS2 model was coming out and obviously with the lines and the sell out of the new model in Japan that appears to be the obvious reason. Not to mention the 3 million ++ units sold in Japan sonce March that works out to approc 333,000 unis a mont, somebody missed place a serious decimal point

Until this satory makes it to Gamespot, IGN, Daily Radar, or Core its complete BS, and the Reverend should at least have that capability of determinging that before he post his usual CRAP here

UK PlayStation-meister Wellsman quits

Games that don\'t work on the platform they\'re designed. DVD drivers burning out machines. Kuturagi rumoured for the chop. Now Wellsman shoots the roost

UK PlayStation marketing director Alan Wellsman is to leave Sony next week. As well as taking charge of the release of the next generation hardware, Wellsman was instrumental in launching the original PlayStation in the UK. Marketing manager Darren Carter will step into his shoes. While it\'s easy to jump to conclusions – such as hardware problems - regarding the reason for the departure, insiders are pointing to nothing more than Wellsman looking for a new challenge. He has been with the company for seven years.

The news follows rumour last week that Ken Kuturagi, the undisputed Don of all things PlayStation, was about to receive his P45. Sony was quick to shoot down the talk: "I was with Ken a week ago, and he was certainly not looking as though he was about to leave the company," a rep told CVG last week.

Now will people quit reporting this typwe of news that doesn\'t come from the big 4: Gamespot, Daily Radar, IGN and Core  Magazine
