Yes, mates, I am. Yesterday I had to sell my Dreamcast (a truly fantastic system- my favorite of all I\'ve owned)to pay for a goddam foot surgery (along with SoA, Shenmue, RE:CV, Soul Calibur, etc.), and I won\'t be getting another one......I\'M IN THE MARKET AGAIN!!! So, convince me of the PS2\'s capabilities. Would next March (the relaunch) be the best time to get one?
Honestly, I\'m quite skeptical of the PS2. Yea, we\'ve all seen the crap currently out (with a couple exceptions)- this WILL change with time, right? One thing that is really favorable in my mind is Sony\'s development support....it won\'t dwindle with the coming of Microsoft, will it?
One last thing- how much better looking can games get than GT3 and MGS2?
To be short, is PS2 a smart investment?

I got one now beacuse I wanted to play the launch titles, and did not have a DVD player. It worked out great :)

Ijust want to know why everyone thinks there are such crap games out right now. I am sure some games lost interest because people played them 24 7 for 2 weeks. The games I have I still feel are awesome and I have been very impressed. SSX...beautiful, lots of replay value. Timesplitters...awesome as both a single and mutiplayer game. TTT...beautiful but yes you must like Tekken in order to like this. Fantavision...very addicting. The only game I have put aside was Summoner but that is because of FF9. I jsut bought Theme Rollercoaster wich I love...but that too you have to like that kind of game. I have also played Kessen which I find amazing and extremely in depth and Silent Scope. There are alot of great games out..I truly believe there is something for everyone.In my opinion there are some great games out especially for a launch.And I do believe the stellar games will come out when they can meet system demand.

the thing is damn great.
I have to warn you though, unlike a lot of people say, you can\'t, I repeat CAN\'T, make toast with the thing, I tried it end I ended up with burned bread, so if you\'re looking for a good toaster, you should look somewhere else.
please excuse my stupid form of humor, Í am a bit bored and just felt like replying to this thread, no matter what..

Welcome to the world of console launches. It takes a while for the library to build up. It\'s like that with all systems. Completely normal. It will happen with XBox and Gamecube too - just as it happened with Dreamcast.

I\'d have to give the PS2 2 thumbs up, the x-box is made by the evil MS whom i not only hate , but think every success they had was just pure luck ( in addition to mafia like behaviur ). with games like FFX, Bouncer, GT3 how can the PS2 go wrong??? and yes, we will see games better than MGS2.. offcourse! how about MGS3?

I love my Playstation2 and I dont regret paying 300 bucks for it. When I play my Playstation games on it, I feel better for some reason and play more, lol. All the Playstation2 games I have played on it I liked except for Summoner.

what I want to know is if the DC is your fav system ever, why would you not get another one??
I mean go ahead and get a PS2 if you like, but then get yourself another DC!! why not get a used one at funcoland or something?
