Title: DVD & Cables question

could anybody help me out.  I need to know which cables will be the best for the sound quality of my Playstation 2, I am going with the Monster Cable S-Video (Gamelink 300 or something) for video.  Is optical digital audio (?) cable what I need to plug into my home theater system in order to get the best quality sound.  Any help is appreciated.

The optical cable is the best source for your audio needs
Be sure to have a reciever that has optical input before you buy the cable though or you\'ll be wasting your money
by the way ............. there aint any games coded for dolby digital 5.1 as yet
the cable is only usefull for watching dvd\'s at this point in time .......but im sure there are games in the making as we speak

hmmmm are you sure cuz it says dolby sorround sound on my madden 2001.....hell it even says it on my FF9 disk.....gettin\' a mini home theatre for Xmas so I\'m curious as to hook this sh*t up myself

dolby surround sound DOES NOT equal digital 5.1, also called AC3.  VHS cassettes have dolby surround sound.

ask dolbytone to post his comparison list of ALL dolby formats ever made.  hes the resident expert here.

Oh yeah that\'s right...... 5.1 is 2 fronts 2 backs a center and a SUB right?

Thanks for all of the replies, what optical cables are the best (brand).  And where would be the cheapest place to find them.  I\'m looking for them to use on my DVD\'s.
