No devices will operate without the special harddrive sony playstation will be coming out with! Think about your comp? What does it need to work devices? Your right windows op.! But it will be different.

The harddrive for the PS2 has nothing to do with it. When you hook the PS2 up to your computer via USB or Firewire, it acts basically the same as any other USB device... it just sits there. You will have to wait until someone makes a program which allows your PC to interface with the PS2 before you actually do anything.
In the future, the USB ports could manage file swaping between the PS2HDD and your PC\'s HDD. Once on the PC, you can hack and edit the files and do stuff like create new skins for Red Faction Deathmatches on PS2 and HexEdit saved games. Then transfer the files back to the PS2 HDD (Along with a few choice MP3\'s for the GT4 Jukebox) and you\'re ready to go.
Provided the right drivers and programs are there, I don\'t see why the PS2 couldn\'t link to the PC for some Head to Head Multi-platform action. There\'s going to be a lot neat apps comming for the PS2 once the HDD is out.. and some crazy programs comming from the underground programmers out there.

wow SonyFan, hopefully the dev\'s are listening cause those are some good ideas :)
the sims has an MP3 folder where you add your own, and ps2 can later too :)

Hey sonyfan...thanks for the info... I figured it would be something like that but I wasent sure if there was software out now that could do things like that. Once the HDD comes out for the PS2 I will look around for programs such as that. Thanks for your help

There\'s an adapter coming up for the PS2\'s memory card. It can link up to the PC for transferring of save files to the pc\'s hard drive. It\'s also compatible with Smartmedia memory devices so you can use it as 16-128Mb memory cards!! :)
Head on to http://www.hkems.com for more info.

Well at least the USB mouse work for now. And the firewire port can be used to link 2 PS2\'s to play full screen Armored Core 2 arena battles. I just wish that Capcom would let you link 2 PS2\'s for Ace Combat 4! Then you could have head to head dogfights or the second person could be your wingman! Now tell me that wouldn\'t be cool!
