I was just wondering if the Gamecube and the Xbox will be in the same amount of demand that the PS2 is?
-
if you want my opinion.. awww helllll nahhhh, there will never be anything a crazy and wild as that in the lanch of x box and game cube, they will not even compare at all, if any of you saw the launch in europe, someone posted a video of it a few weeks ago, now that was love for a console, i mean you couldnt hear a damn thing, everyone was screamin there heads off in glee, no no no they will not compare
-
Thw NGC will mosy certainly be in demand imo, maybe not as high as the PS2 demand was but fairly close. The Xbox is a big ? since this is there first console.
-
if you wants my opinion, its going to be no! Why? X-box is new, people probably haven\'t heard of it and even if they do, they are not sure if it really a promising system. Lunchcube, well, people going to buy a $2.00 lunchbox mistaken gamecube lunchbox. That\'s the reason why the lunchcube doesn\'t sells well. People bought the wrong kind. and 2nd, lunchcube won\'t have lots of third parties games! and 1 or 2 launch titles won\'t do it! unless they do delayed which is even worst!
-
how come no one talks about the GBA - GameBoy Advance ?
o back to the topic..their might be more demands in the future..but if Microsoft and Nintendo learned from SONY mistake..PRODUCE MORE SYSTEMS
-
No
Gamecube:
1) only a little bit more powerful than PS2
2) not as much hype
3) there are going to be more
X-box:
1) many many many people hate microsoft
2) there are going to be more
3) Bill Gates is the Devil!!! (nobody really realigious would but it!)
-
The Xbox launch won\'t. Because, first time console launches for a company are never as big as the follow up console. This applied with the original PS even.
The GC may be as big. But maybe not. It depends on how many people are bitter about the N64 basically sucking, \'cept for a few games.
Not to mention, you have to realize part of the launch "success" was due to the hype and shortage of systems, causing a demand.
-
Ok know-it-all-wanna-be,your mouth has talked too much bull**** for one day.

I thought Nintendo fanboys were supposed to be immature,I guess you just proved that theory wrong.
2nd, lunchcube won\'t have lots of third parties games!
Know the system before you bash it.It has pratically every big name third party developer there is.
Capcom,Konami, Namco, EOR,Acclaim,EA,Midway,Habro,Infogrames,3DO,Ubi Soft, THQ, Take-Two, Paradigm Entertainment ,Factor 5,and Activision.
I won\'t even mention NIntendo\'s phenominal first and second parties. Those names, are the best in the business.nintendo has plenty of third-party support this time around, you Sony idiots cannot use that against them this time, its now officially useless.
and 1 or 2 launch titles won\'t do it!
I know!Thats why their going to have 10 launch titles from 1st and 2nd party developers alone. With third parties, that number will most likely increase to over 20.
playstation 2 rules. Nintendo Starcube Dolphin drools.
1.How immature is that?
2.They changed the name a long time ago,you should udpate your ignorant signature now girl.
3.You don\'t know **** about GameCube, and yet you constantly talk thrash about it.Your not making Nintendo look bad, your just making yourself look stupid. Its time to shut up now.
Back to the topic-I doubt it.Anythig is possible but I seriously don\'t think they can do it.Especially not Glitch-Box.
-
there was a mob scene here for the ps2.I dont think x-box can be that big. nintendo on the other hand could come out close. all it takes is the right games. hehe lunchcube? has anyone seen the photos compareing the size of gamecube the system is actully quite small
-
I think both will be bigger than PS2\'s. Why? Well, all I\'m going off of is the fact that the electonics boutique and the game fellas near me were taking down names and a 10 dollar depoisit for now. So far, EB has taken 63 pre-orders for X-Box, and 37 for Gamecube. Add to that, Gamestop has stopped taking preorders because they are both in huge demand. They are going to wait and get prices and stuff before they let anyone else preorder.
And they\'re both still at least 9 months away. And hype, just wait until E3, there will be hype. Can you say Mario?

huh i think not, those are pre orders, knone will be riotig to get there pre orders if they are all just gonna sit on there asses and wait for a while before they go get it, only the hardcore microsoft and nintendo goers pre ordered there consoles so early, cause they think its gonna be a big deal, not... it wont maybe people will go get them but there wont be a shortage and they wont have it in there heart to stand in lin for ever and a day, ps2 will win it
-
i think that the system with the lowest price will attract the most amount of customers (i had to tell my aunt what the playstation 2 was capeable of in the future, since dreamcast looked the same but for a lower price) also, there are many more nintendo fans than microsoft fans because microsoft is just starting, while nintendo already has an audience of their own.
-
Hype and frenzy is all well and good but both Nintendo and Xbox will have more systems available at launch therefore sell more systems. Now you wanna talk hype fine PS2 wins hands down but the sales will beat the PS2\'s.
-
ah, so youre the psychic?
when will i be a millionaire?
when will playstation 5 come out?
(just dont say things you dont know are true professorX)
we shall see who beats ps2 out.. or if anyone beats them out at all...
-
I don\'t see the big deal. Even if they beat the PS2 launch, they will suffer the same fate as the PS2 launch did afterwards. Lack of games after the launch, and launch games being less then expected.
It always takes time before we see the full power of a system, so I really could care less about how the launch of a system is.
Though, another Mario sure would be nice..:)
-
I think they both have a good chance of doing better than PS2\'s launch. If either GC or XBox sweep E3 then I think they could possibly do it. I also think that GameCube probably has the best chance at sweeping E32k1, because we know so little about it.

All this talk about XBox\'s future demise b/c people hate Bill Gates is pure hogwash. People could care less about what Bill Gates does. All I have to say is if both companies show us a decent amount of material at E3 and have a huge advertising campaign, both systems will have huge hype. The games is what caused the frenzy for PS2 and it will be the games that will cause the huge frenzy for XBox and Gamecube.
-
I doubt it. Nintendo doesn\'t have quite the hype Sony did, and the Gamecube is much easier to produce, so it will likely be in far greater supply. Nintnedo has allready shown its commitment to having systems available with the GBA, they are plannng to have over 10 million of them out before its first year is out. don\'t think MS would make the mistake of having short supply either.
-
I doubt it also. Playstation was instant out-of-nowhere success and still sells. That\'s why Playstation 2 was in such high demand.
For GC many Nintendo lovers buy it but many have left the Nintendo\'s ship because they think it\'s going to be another kiddie-console ( if that\'s their opinion about N64 - They\'re wrong but this is the USUAL opinion of a gamer ); or then Nintendo starts hyping and advertizing the new console and reveals all the developers and games in all magazines, all over internet, tv screens... after that, maybe...
For X-box. Could be. It depends on many things \'tho.
1) It\'s Microsoft. Many computer-gamers trust microsoft ( those who think Windows is perfect so forth bugless :) ) and gets familiar with console-world via X-box
2)Then again it\'s Microsoft. Many console/computer -gamers hate the company for many reasons; here are the most usual reasons:
-Console gamers don\'t like MS to rush its way to console markets just before GC and after PS2; they want good ol\' console-fight between Nintendo and Sega, add Sony here. They don\'t trust MS. It\'s like a stranger to many. Black sheep amongst white.
-Computer gamers don\'t like microsoft ( those who think Windows is full of errors and bugs ); they don\'t trust MS could make X-box bug-free.
and so on.
Time will reveal the answer.
-
they are plannng to have over 10 million of them out before its first year is out.
24 million to be exact.:)
-
It all depends on whether or not Nintendo and Microsoft can show off some pretty good stuff at E3 that better than PS2.
-
First off, there wasn\'t that much demand as there was a shortage. There wouldn\'t be all the crazy lines, fighting, and PS2s selling for $600 if there wasn\'t a shortage. So, I don\'t think that there will be as much craziness for the NGC or x-box. I do think that there will be the same demand though. And because Nintendo will learn from Sony\'s mistake and produce enough consoles, the demand will be filled. So I think there will be the same amount of demand and because there will be enough consoles, the NGC will sell more.
-
joyda, why the hell do you bring psx into this argument. Psx2 is nothing like psx1. Sure, psx1 did really well because it was mainly between nintendo and sony, also psx1 was easy to develop(key word). Now, the psx2, hard to develop. So, don\'t expect th psx2 sells is as high as psx1 was. About the high demand crap that with the psx2, it\'s all part of the hype skeem. This is how i see, first they hype everyone with specs so that everone would want to get one then they decided not to release alot of psx2s for the consumers.
As for E3, i\'m really looking forward to it. I hope they all do well, but i\'m mostly looking forward to see nintendo\'s gcn and their games. I want to see playable demos of nintendo stuff, if the system and games are as promissing, then i\'ll get one, if not, i won\'t. simple as that. As for microsoft, i don\'t lot about, but they pretty much doing what\'s sony did with psx2, hyping the system with specs. I rather having them telling me the truth then fake crap.
-
in all honesty, nintendo has it\'s own audience and I am sure that loyal nintendo fans will get the new system but I really don\'t think it will be nearly as crazy as the PS2 Launch. As far as X-box, I\'m not really sure who there target market will be. With DC and PS2 already way ahead of the game, who will be left to buy an x-box. I don\'t know about you( meaning all who read this), but I don\'t intend to own more than one console so for me, the PS2 is it, so Gamecube and X box have already lost where I\'m concerned. I think they are way too late getting out of the box. Now with x-box launching fall 2001 it will be interesting to see if Gamecube delays it\'s launch. I have read in magazine that Nintendo has never released a system in direct competition with another console and if they launch as planned, they will be going up against x-box. Hmmmmm?????????? it will be intersesting to see how all this plays out.
