I thought it was pretty cool.
took a while to get used to though.
once i did, i started destroying the opposition.
I think it was the "battle of Fuji(?)", i beat tokagawa with a %25 loss to his %99 loss. i felt tough.

Hmm, I\'d actually like to hear a little more about this game. Looks interesting, but I haven\'t given it a shot yet.

Does the gameplay change or vary much? I was watching a kid play a demo at the store and all I saw was hack and slash. Nice looking hack and slash mind you but I can see where that would get monotonous.

I tried it out at one shop and hated it. I don\'t like games wich tell of that age, really. Maybe, just maybe it\'s worth a RENT if you learn to play it. But otherwise...
I\'d buy Dynasty Warriors 2 all over Kessen if I\'d have to make a choice between them.

what strategie \'d you follow in the fourth battle (can\'t come up with the name), did you attack from scratch or wait?

I enjoyed this game too, but I think it ws only worth a rent for me. I didn\'t really feel like I had control of the battles all that much. Great strategy game though for the diehards. I personally am looking more forward to Kessen2 which is now supposed to be able to have over 500 guys on screen at the same time and way better graphics. Also you can take more control of the guys on screen then in the first game. Still, Kessen is a great strategy game and is very rewarding once you get start to get the hang of it and are totally wiping out the enemy, like \'politiepet\' said. I would recommened renting this game and if you like it that much go ahead and spend the money to get it.

I always planned them out from scratch.
I always destroyed them that way.
It was so gratifying to see my plans work.

Dolbytone, forgive me if I\'m wrong here, but could it be that you were watching a kid play Dynasty Warriors 2? That falls right in line (with my experience) of being a "nice looking hack and slash". I own DW2 and really enjoy it. You get past the "hack and slash" mentality (yes, its there no doubt) b/c of the desire to push back "the horde" and do so in a cooperative mode with your allies. Really rather cool game. On the other hand, I\'ve rented Kessen. Probably didn\'t give it its fair due, but I found that game tedious in the setup for each campaign. Never really got into that one. Just my 2 pennies...

I just rented it and it appears I\'m not into turn-based games. It\'s just too slow for me.:hold:

It looks like it\'d be interesting for a while but from what I\'ve read the battle scenes get repetitious after a short time. Plus right now I don\'t think I could really get into playing a slow turn-based game, especially after playing TS and DW2 almost daily. I might try it eventually after the price goes down, but it\'s not a priority right now.
btw - DW2 has a lot more strategy involved than just button-mashing. It\'s also one of my most-played games among my friends. Simply awesome.

Problem with Kessen isn\'t that its not fun to play or look at, it just gets too damn old to quick!!
Same freakin thing over and over, and over and over!!!
Ugh. I hope Kessen2 has some more options. Kessen is a good rental.
