Is there any aussie here? i heard some where in the news on TV couples of days ago that ACCC is reviewing the region4dvd system....i heard that it might be abolished...
If it happened, will sony offered us a free mods for the ps2...? well it\'s unlikely?
:)

Haven\'t heard that one before but I believe it would not be possible . There are that many DVD players out there that only support region 4 .So if it were true ,the ACCC board would be fired and a new board would bring region 4 straight back .
It would be a consumer nightmare . The ACCC couldn\'t possibly be that dumb .

doubt it.

On web pages selling the ps2 in Oz, it states that the PS2\'s DvD firmware is upgradeable. So it looks like they can improve on it.
If so they could just release a firmware update on cd and correct the region issues.
That would be sweet.

well, if i\'m not mistaken, i just remember that i heard the news from "Sky News Australia(Foxtel)"...it said something about paying extra money...and it is not fair...cause most of everyone that bought dvd get it modified...
and also it was mention something not fair for dvd movies collector...
well...if the dvd firmware is upgradable...it will be a big relief... :D
