Title: Looking for info on making a jap scph 18000 work in the US

I have been looking around at different web sites for mod chips that will make my new japanese ps2 scph 18000 play both ps1 and 2 backups and imports. I also need any info about how to make my dvd v.2.00 work for the american region. Any direction or leads to sites that can assist me would be greatly appreciated.
