Title: Is Theme Park Roller Coaster on PS2 better then the PC version?

Does it have better graphics, better rides etc? Is it smooth, does it offer any new rides or attractions?

Thanks :)

IGN on Graphics:
Compared to the PC version, the PS2 version is smoother looking, and just a tad better looking overall. And since all of the items are small, the graphics aren\'t lavish in the way a game such as Final Fantasy or Madden may be.

IGN on Sound:
What the Bullfrog team did to improve this version over any others was to improve its sound. Players get a real sense of the waves of screams and yelps of glee that come from a theme park.

Other Comments:
Since Roller Coaster Tycoon isn\'t on the PlayStation 2, I can\'t recommend it for this system. But it does go one step further than Theme Park Roller Coaster by permitting you to play dirty tricks on kids, like throwing them in lakes and watching them die on broken down roller coasters. It\'s a little more satanic than Theme Park Roller Coaster, but has its good points.

What PS2 gets is Theme Park Roller Coaster, a fun, clean addictive game that\'s intelligent and highly amusing. While complicated at times, it is a blast to play, a particular breed of fun, one that appeals to gameplayers with the knack for tinkering, modifying, and who like relentless revision. And although Theme Park Roller Coaster is a PC game by nature, the fast clip, the easy-to-use interface, and the constant lure to fiddle with everything, is universal to all gamers.

From what I\'ve read: slightly better graphics/sound, no new rides and you can\'t drown or kill kids.

Do you realize that you can get a new video card and processor on your PC and the graphics will be better than the PS2?  How can they say that the graphics are better and smoother on a console, when you can easily upgrade your computer?

Dude, at the time this thread was originally made, the PS2 had one of the best graphics cards on the planet. Sure, if you ran a GeForce 4 with that game, then sure, the graphics would be better. But not by much.

The game is not better then the PC versoin. It lacks the ease of use of the PC version. Everything must be done with endless menus on the PS2 version. You could have had my copy but I sold it along time ago.

No, see, about two years ago I had this thing for rollercoasters, I suppose it was just a natural progression to want to try Theme Park.

Its not my kinda game, really boring. The best theme park game is Tycoon.
