Title: Little Comparison
Post by: DarkchimP on December 27, 2000, 11:33:20 AM
I am just about to sit down and play TTT and DOA2 and while I play I would like you guys to state which one you prefer now that you have had them for a while. I want to know which game is better in the long run. Thanks.

TTT=Button masher, cooler characters
DoA2=Deeper control/gameplay, shallow story:(

Depends on my mood.

If you want an extended button mashing session with a cool story, try Dynasty Warriors II.  Its not exactly on the line of DOA2 or TTT, but its fighting, it has a bit of strategy, it has a nice plot, and a fairly gorgeous setting.

What is the plot for Dynasty anyway? I\'ve heard about how good it is. What kind of game is it? Action, RPG, Fighter? or a mixture?

I have far more love for the tekken series, but i would rather play doa2 right now simply because i don\'t know everyones moves and its a new game. ttt is just a rehashed tekken 3. Its not even fair to compare them. A fairer comparison would be to give doa1 a makeover and then compare the 2.
tekken 4 will redefine fighting games (at least i really really hope so)

DoA2 has deeper gameplay? Wow EThugg, you\'re the first one I\'ve seen to say that... And when comparing stories... er, TTT ain\'t got none ya know. Well at least a concrete one... :p

And honestly, if you\'ve played TTT with someone who knows his/her stuff, you sure know that button bashing won\'t get you far. As in DoA2, I\'ve heard.

I haven\'t even tried DoA2 yet (the porny glow emitting from the game is rather repulsive and my Tekken-loving friends\'ve said it\'s nothing much as a game either), but I\'m 99% sure that I like Tekken more. It\'s really grown on me during the last 5 years.

Roll on Tekken 4, yeah baby! :D (great expectations)

I prefer DOA2, although I believe TTT is a deeper fighter, but I like DOA2\'s countering system which is pretty easy to pick up and prevents button mashers from succeding. Not to mention DOA2 beautiful graphics.

Well Hawke, my experience is just the opposite. Everyones entitled to their opinion, but DoA2 is IMO much more complex. And I have never lost at TTT, and Im just a simple button masher. Maybe I was lucky, but that\'d mean I\'ve been lucky over 1000 times.....that\'s not too likely now is it?
