I got my PS2 on Christmas day. With two games. TTT and Madden 2001. My brother has taken a liking to TTT and play Madden once in while. To leave it short, I\'m bored with my current games. Anybody recommend a PSX or preferablly a PSX2 game? I like adventure games (Any Zelda game, and a few choice shooters) I\'m leaning towards Armored Core 2 as of right now. Any opinions?

You said shooters so I\'m saying TimeSplitters,I love it. I also have Midnight Club Street Racing and its awesome too. I have SSX and thnk its not as it was hyped up to be, IMO.
-
I havent really wanted SSX. I\'ve just HEARD its good. But around the forum, peeps say its not what its cracked up to be.

Does anybody have Armored Core 2?? I dont see any other respectable games out right now. Are there any games you are looking forward to?

Armored Core 2 doesn\'t suck, its probably too hard for you and you gave up. I played it for about 20 hours now and have gotten rank 1 and passed the missions. It is not a good game to buy, but it is a very good game for renting.

How long did it take to figure things out? I dont like games that you have to spend more time reading the book then just pushing the power button and kicking ass.

Hi, this is my first post... anyways back to the question. If you like fast action that you don\'t have to read a manual, definatly get SSX over AC2... I personally like AC2 more, but I\'ve put ~8 hours into it, and I\'m still learning new things about mech parts... it is really challenging starting out.

lol, I didn\'t even read the manual at ALL I just played and i got it

I Played AC2 for the first time today and it is hard.

I have found both SSX and Armored Core II to be quality games, only for different reasons. SSX is really good with a friend, while ACII is a very nice mecha game. True the controls for SSX are probably easier to pickup than those for ACII, however it hardly ruined the game for me. If forced to choose inbetween the two, SSX would likely to be my choice as more people are willingly to play the two player mode.

Get SSX or timesplitters

i have armored core 2 and i think its great , what is so bad about it?

AC2 badly needs analog control which it does NOT have. The gameplay is MUCH deeper than Virtual On - but because VO has analog control, VO plays better. AC2, is a mech fan\'s game and if you love mechs and can get by the lack of analog control, this is the game for you.
SSX is fun. I\'ve never heard a negative thing about it other than sore thumbs. Gameplay is simple yet not easily mastered. The character\'s skills can be upgraded(similar to RPG characters) as you win medals. I like that. The graphics are simply outstanding. You can\'t go wrong. It\'s a great single player\'s game as well as a two player game.
One game to try is Sky Oddysee. Heard it was a great game. Not visually stunning but the gameplay is awesome. Gonna get it.

you can wait until Dark Cloud come out...
-
What kind of game is Dark Cloud? I havent heard much about it. But it has been mentioned a couple of times.
-
It\'s simply the best PS2 game out.
But besides that, I like:
Armored Core 2, for it\'s mech feeling and new features( overboost is awesome). I beat it in 11 hours(everything) because I was an Armored Core freak 4 years ago as well.
Ready 2 Rumble: Round 2, for its simple yet fun gameplay. Best PS2 fighting game yet, IMO.
NHL 2001, for its ability to be fun!
