Anyway, back on track, and you will find the next-gen Lara composed of over a thousand polygons. Pretty impressive when you consider the best of the PSOne offerings only utilised a mere 200-300

from playstationcenter.com

1000 polys ? I know this probably doesn\'t mean anything, but arent the tekken fighters made of like 5000? I know the onimusha character is 10000, and I even heard the guys in x-squad are made up of 5000.
I really hope square doesn\'t drop the ball on this one. Tomb raider was a great series at one time and has potential but not if eidos just gives it a 128 bit makeover.
Ahh maybe I worry too much, but with every tomb raider game they (eidos) said they added this and this or that was better, but after tr2 they just got worse.

really ? damn !
Well soul, I don\'t know what you think of the tr series, but doesn\'t that seem a little low? I almost think its a misprint!

Maybe they need mucho polys to build the settings ya know. The old TR world consisted of huge blocky clunky polygons, this time around I think they\'re doing something much more complex. If the pics we\'ve seen are any indicators, the blocks are gone 4 good :)

But anyways... when dealing with a powerful next-gen console like PS2, 1000 seems really low... maybe a misprint, or maybe they\'re using curves (ehhehee... er, curves, hah *ding*) :)

Tomb Raider rocks! The only bad one was 3. I don\'t really care about the polygon count, as long as it looks next gen.

I\'ve only played #1 and #2 so I\'m not burnt on the series like some. I\'m ready for Lara on PS2 and will most assuredly pick it up.

Eidos should really focus most of their work in the Soul Reaver series.

I hope they don\'t pull a Tomb Raider on the Soul Reaver series. (No, I\'m not talking about breast enlargements)

1000!?! That\'s pretty lame...:sconf: I\'m sure that was a misprint or something...either that or Eidos doesn\'t know how to program for the PlayStation 2...

Eidos released early models of Lara for the game and it was said to contain 5000 polys.  I\'m not really into the series but I thought she looked pretty good, and the world shots they released looked really good too.
Another interesting thing is that the Bouncer uses character models with between 2000 and 2500 polys and they look awesome.  They probably could have had more polygons but square wanted the game to flow smoothly with up to 30 people on screen...that\'s all.
