Title: How do you know if...
Post by: Eaglepower on December 28, 2000, 08:11:29 PM
your PS2 is defective? I mean, is there a way to test it? Play DVD\'s? put it in the vertical position? I\'m just wondering. I hear that alot of people are have disc reading problems. I\'m getting kind of paranoid, I would hate to get too attached to my PS2 and then something happen to it, I would rather know right away and take it back. Sorry if this is a stupid post, but I hate hearing bad things about a system I paid $300 for. I want to know I got my moneys worth, this system has got to last me 2-3 years minimum.
Also is it normal for the PS2 to be kinda noisey? Like I said, I\'m starting to get paranoid.

Its normal for it to be a bit noisey. But, to test it. Well, if it is constantly freezing or skipping it may be. But if it does that, check to make sure the disc aren\'t scratched.

Is not that bad. We\'ve 2600 members in this forum and only a few cases. The problem is that, when someone have any problem with the console( or just have heard about "the problems"), he/she opens a new thread and a lot of people responds. That gives the illusion to some of the members/guests that is a big problem, but is not. It\'s just the typical problems with the new systems( just remember the problems with the original PSX, DC, etc).

You\'ve said it: "i\'m getting kind of paranoid". That\'s what is happening to some people in the forum, but in a few months nobody will remember these "problems". They\'re gonna be too bussy playing Silent Hill 2, FF X, GT 3, Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid 2...
