Hi All,
I\'d like to get footie fans opinions of which is better and why ....ISS or FIFA?
In my opinion it is, and always has been, ISS.
Yes, FIFA has always had all the real player names, the great commentary, great goal celebrations but it lacks the playability you get with ISS.
The ball control you get with ISS is awesome, there are so many more tricks to learn and so many more ways to score goals. With FIFA, there are always certain places you can go on the pitch where you are guaranteed to score.
A couple of dissapointed aspects of ISS for the PS2, which I hope to see changed in the future are.
1. The ho-hum commentary with James and Butcher is terrible.
2. Not enough player alikenesses.
3.Difficult to get powerful low shots.
4.English fans seem to travel to every game, even when their team ain\'t playing.
Let me know what u guys think.
ps: anybody got tips on how to get low, powerful shots?
I think its something like push back on the D-pad after shooting..!?

ISS is better than FIFA

FIFA on the PC sucked!! I had 99,2000 and I said:
Enough is Enough
Do yourself a favor and pick up Fifa2k1 for the PS2, it owns!

It depends on what you want, if you want a soccer simulation get ISS Pro Evolution for the PSX, the ISS game for the PS2 that\'s out right now isn\'t that great - it\'s made by Konami\'s KCEO team who made the more arcade like N64 ISS games. A PS2 ISS game made by KCET (the team that made the incredible ISS Pro Evolution) will be out next year.
If you want an arcade game, get Fifa 2001 - but imo it\'s a shoddy piece of crap that doesn\'t measure up to the gameplay of ISS nor the presentation or quality of EA\'s other titles like Madden or SSX. JackZ has a point - the PC version, while still being completely uncrealistic, is a lot better than the PS2 version because you can get patches made by the Fifa fans that adjust the AI, and update rosters and kits - it doesn\'t make the game great, but a higher grade of crap than the PS2 version.

You thought the presentation of Fifa2k1 on the PS2 was a piece of sh!t??? I thought it was better than Madden in some aspects. And patches and such, I love watching futbol in the UK\'s and such, but patches really don\'t do much for the game. One roaster is good enough for me.
BTW, I\'ve played the PC version of Fifa and I didn\'t like it as much as the PS2 one.

I love Motty and Lawro, but they don\'t mention ANYTHING about the players, I know there\'s a lot but at least one or two phrases about the MAJOR players - like saying when Zidane gets the ball; "Oh, Zidane\'s France\'s midfield anchor and really shot to stardom when he went from Bordeaux to Juventus".
There are only FOUR stadiums, the players don\'t even have names on the back of their jersey\'s, you notice ALL the players wear SHORT sleves even when you play in december, there\'s no snow, squad numbers are wrong for MANY players, the camera angles are either too far or too close, the PLAYERS ARE ALL THE SAME SIZE - put Owen next to Desailly and they\'re the same height - that\'s absolutely rediculous. And don\'t get me started on the gameplay and season modes...notice how everyone can shoot perfectly fine with either foot..I\'m finishing up my review for SGN right now and it should be up next week.
If you\'ve never played ISS PE for a long time, or any other soccer game you\'ll think there\'s nothing wrong with Fifa 2001, but IMO it\'s a bastardization of the sport I love and it makes me sick when I think of the praise it gets from most North American reviewers who don\'t know the first thing about football.
Check out Daily Radar UK\'s review of Fifa 2001 to see I\'m not alone...

for those people who said fifa2001 on pc sucks...
i\'ve play the demo of fifa2001 on ps2 from that i can tell u it\'s not nice looking at all plus no patches......
if u hate pc version of fifa2001.....have u tried to change the resolution ....u can change it on registry.....and yes i agree that fifa2001 look terrible on 640x480 res...but when u set it to 1024x768 or up.....it look hell nicer than ps2 version......
im not arguing about the gameplay......the gameplay is always great.......
i just patch the keeper gloves--->nike and addidas ball.....looks great.....

i agree totally, just wait for isspe2 and don\'t buy any of the other football games, cause this one wil blow all else away

If you really love fooball and really need a football game in your PS2 (Like Me :)) get both;). If you like football but you only want one my choise will be ISS, I can tell that you already have it cause u r asking how to make low, powerful shots. I used to have the same problem, just shoot and used the D-pad 2 give direction 2 your shoot, but never fill up all the power bar, the ball will finish in the hands of the English fans u talk about:D.
