If this is any indications... well you got the idea

"Bandai has released 350,000 copies of its PlayStation2 giant robot game Mobile Suit Gundam. According to the company, the entire shipment sold out in four days. Bandai intends to ship an additional 150,000 units by the end of March."

Thats not bad, guess the number of systems out there is getting high enough, or its just one damn good and popular game :)

hehe, now I found this

"According to The Nihon Keizai Shimbun, PlayStation2 shipments topped 4 million units in Japan in 2000, with cumulative global sales expected to reach 11 million by the end of March. The Japan news source also said that sales of Nintendo 64, though stagnant in 2000, topped 5.3 million units since its release, while Dreamcast has shipped around 2 million units. "
