I\'ve purchased Summoner but I haven\'t opened it. I can\'t decide if I should return it or not. I loved the original Zelda, on NES. Are there any RPGs out now that are similar? They all seem to be too tied up in the interviewing process and not enough fighting. Surely I\'m not the only Zelda fan!
Thanks,

umm, i hate to be the one to to break it to you, but zelda is not a RPG. its an adenture game down to the heart. plenty of adventure titles out there

Oops, I guess you\'re right. Maybe it\'s more like Diablo? Oh well, I\'ll just leave Summoner in the wrapper until I\'m tired of SSX!

jesus christ man. do you have money to burn?
-
do you have Summoner within open?? can you do this? wow, I can“t. I must open my new game when I buy it... open it and enjoy!!!!

I don\'t have money to burn. I got my PS2 from KB toys and I had to buy a package deal. The PS2 with 3 games of my choice for 499. So, I got SSX, TTT, and Summoner but I\'m just not sure if I\'ll like Summoner or not so I haven\'t opened so I can exchange it if I want to. I\'m thinking of exchanging it for DOA2 and selling TTT on eBay, SoulCalibur is just so much better than TTT, I can\'t get used to it.

i\'ll guarantee that you won\'t like the game (summoner) it is nothing like Zelda (well a bit like it) but Zelda is much better. i tried the game and it is rubbish (eventhough the critics gave it 90% or 8.8/10).
DOA 2 is a good and realistic type of fighting game, buit the gameplay is so short. there is no secret characters, no secret arenas, no nothing.
the choice is yours...
YOU HAVE THE POWER :vader:

of GREYSKULL!!!!!!
And knowing is half the battle.
Seriously if the game is bad take it back. They should give you full value if it is not open.

Sonyweb.com reffers to Zelda as and action RPG. It looks like Dark Cloud is going to be the answer to my question.

i would return it and get either Madden , NHl 2001 , or Dynasty warriors 2 . i didnt think summoner was that good
-
It looks like Evergrace would be a decent action / RPG. Does anyone have it?

AHHHHHHHHHHHh noooooooooo.. The game is horrible, rent it borrow it, just don\'t buy it. Wait for Dark Cloud, it will be out soon and is going to be the best RPG out for the PS2... Well at least for now..

yea i have heard some goods things about summoner but it is not for the casual gamer - there are a lot of things that have to be overlooked. But the game isn\'t all that bad. but i suggest u trae it in and get another game.Which ine is your choice, not mine though.

Wrong there, monkey man. Zelda is about as far from being an Adventure game as it is from being an RPG. Secret of Monkey Island is an Adventure, Martian Memorandum is an adventure, hell even Resident Evil is an adventure game at heart. Zelda is more of an action/platformer. Most people just label it as an RPG since it\'s set in a fantasy world and you gain power-ups as you progress through the story. However the stats building/character building and puzzle solving elements inherant to RPG\'s and Adventures are pretty much non-existant in Zelda.

Did you play Square\'s Vagrant Story on the PSX, if you did and liked it you\'ll love the Summoner
Do you love a great story ??? Then you\'ll love the Summoner
Can you stomach some code imperfections ?? There are a few glitches in the game, but overall I enjoyed it. Although obviously its not for everyone, it was considered the best RPG for PS2 launch and to date.
