What ill it be? I seriously doubt it\'ll be making games consoles. I think they\'ll end up developing for Xbox or PS2.
Either that or Nintendo\'s GBA. But since they want to be sold for ?2 billion, it\'s just scary waiting to see who jumps in first....could it be Sony? Nintendo or Microsoft...????? What do you know? Tell me any important news you have plz!!!?!?
Thanx!

hmmm... can\'t really say. Dreamcast has been a success in certain parts of the world. I can\'t see why sega shouldn\'t make another console, or wouldn\'t.
Sega just has had bad luck. Bad luck for the launch date ( year before PS2... just when PS2 was hyped so much and everyone was waiting for Sony\'s miracle ), and the advertizing wasn\'t so good. You must see that DC is getting heaps of quality games after quality games but the console just doesn\'t sell...
Maybe it isn\'t just about games, at least not in the DC\'s case.
I hope that if Sega tries to do another console ( I think they have one chance left due to the American success of DC ) they would have better luck...

Sega\'s Peter Moore stated in an IGN interview I believe, that they was focusing on the DC. Right now, they don\'t really need to develop for someone else, despite the rumours. No one is buying them either.
Sega has and will continue to be around for the long haul.

I hope they keep developing games because I don\'t wanna sell my dreamcast for like $30 bucks.
-
Don\'t worry, dreamcast isn\'t going anywhere but up. There is still plenty of room to grow and 2 weeks ago before Christmas 180,000 DC\'s were sold. Another 3 to 4 million in the USA and Sega could be self sufficient if by some mystical chance (which also won\'t happen, Capcom vowed to keep DC alive,by themselves if needed) all the developers left.
Regarding GBA development. I would love to see Sega develop for GBA, they have already signed up for development on Wonderswan color. But I would love to see a 3D sonic on GBA, that would rock, but I dont think Nintendo would appreciate the massive sales taken away from their own mascot :)
Sega is also not going anywhere. They already have a new console in development, this console is rumored (a guy I know who works at Sega) so powerful, it won\'t use polygons at all, or something like that, I cant remember what he said, just that X-Box doesnt even compare to DC2 or what he calls Phoenix. And this is just the SoA arm of Sega, I wonder what SoJ has cooked up for us with NEC, or something. Give it 2 years and they will have a big announcement, which will be near DC\'s life cycle anyway.

Sega should be #1. That\'s all there is to it.

They should but they aren\'t... Bad luck or something else? Makes me wonder if they should be :)
No, I think I\'m going to buy Dreamcast if I\'ll buy another next-gen console because it\'s so cheap that maybe I could afford it...
or then I won\'t buy another console at all...
AARGH--- I WANT TO WIN THE LOTTERY!!!!
( any tricks to surely win the price? )

Sega will slowly get out of the console biz and rock the charts with kick ass games.
Sega has had the best console, shame it was really never truly noticed :(

any reasons to this?
can you tell me?
I quess not. You can\'t. Hmmm.. DC wasn\'t really advertized around here; that could have been one reason... there was so much babble about PS2; that could have been one reason... but maybe those aren\'t even the reasons...
can someone tell me what they are?

There is a few reasons. The biggest being Sega lost alot of respect with gamers because of the 32X/SEGA CD / Saturn fiasco. By most gamers opinions, all three of those "items" was failures. Alot didn\'t have faith in the DC. But, Sega proved everyone wrong. Just alittle to late , sadly. Maybe the next time though!:)

I dont agree that sega will stop making systems. There systems are notice and respected. They will continue to make systems.
Reasons
1.They will make more money.
2.there is no need for just making games and not systems when you can make both.

this reply is for living-in-clip. With regard to your post stating Peter Moore for Sega stating that Sega is focusing on the DC. Well for starters, What would you expect him to say? Of course he isn\'t going to say anything that could possibly rock the already uncertain future of there console . Also if you go back in history, I seem to remember Sega claiming that they will support the 32x..............NOT! and I also remember them stating that they will focus on the Saturn................NOT! Oh and I forgot about them saying that they would support the sega CD as well......................Big NOT!!!!!!! Now before you get all upset. I owned each and every one of these systems and that is why I will never and I mean NEVER trust or buy anything from sega with the exception of sofware that they will inevitably be releasing for other consoles. Lets face it DC may not be going anywhere soon but you can bet that the DC WILL be the last console that sega will put out. There are far better console manufacturers out there now and SEGA just want\'s to stick to what they do best, which is turn out good GAMES, particularly Arcade port overs. In conclusion I agree that the DC isn\'t going anywhere soon. The consoles are out there and they have support so of course it isn\'t going anywhere just as PS2 isn\'t going anywhere. As for the game cube and x-box......that remains to be seen. sony and sega already own a huge chunk of the market already. will there be anyone left to buy these other consoles???????????????

I agree now... Yes, ppl are starting to realize that DC is a good console after all, and if DC didn\'t sell so well, then maybe DC 2 will...
I have faith in Sega, altho\' I\'ve never been a fan of Sega\'s I have earned some respect towards them by looking at the great game-selection DC has...
I truly like Sega now... DC I would like to own.. still, even as cheap the console is, money enough I don\'t have...

Um tLuv. Seg has supported all of their consoles. It is the American public who doesnt!
SegaCD sold around 2 million systems, Sega released over 150 games for it. After the 2 million though, sales were dead.
Sega 32X sold 150,000. Then the next batch sold 75,000. Sega supported it until they could lose money no more.
Saturn sold 1 million in America, not even close enough to sustain 1st party life only. SoJ supported Saturn up until late in 1999, a YEAR after releasing Dreamcast, they knew they were losing money all the time on it, but did it anyway because they have a commitment with their loyal fan base.
Supporting and preventing Bankruptcy are two different things. No one bought Sega consoles after Genesis for reasons of price, after those prices were lowered, however, the public mystically still would not buy them. It is THEIR fault, not Sega\'s. (Well Saturn is Sega\'s fault because of no ads., hard to program for, and 3D was not a primary operative.)

Sega make the best games, but make crap choices on hardware.
Except for Genesis and Dreamcast !
-
I was planning to buy a dreamcast but I decided to wait till e3
sega\'s future is not very bright (I wish it was!)
there r too many rumors about sega going to be bought or going software only/multiplatform
these rumors are what the public/retailers think about the dreamcast
they don\'t think it has a chance
Dreamcast is a great console with many great games, but the developers, publishers and retailers kill the thing. They want it to go down so that they could focus on the next wave of next gen consoles.
I read an article in a magazine about how the developers think about DC future
One of them (I can\'t remember who) said
"DC is dead it just doesn\'t know it yet"
this may sound very harsh but it might be true
I personnaly want to see the DC number 2 at the end of this console war!

I guess it is ok to have a little (or alot) optimism now and then! I guess we got until March! Then it will be time for Sega to embarass everyone 3rd party into the ground.
