Please help!
When I first turn on my PS2, any PS2 game will load. If I then switch games and press the reset button, the new game won\'t load. Even if I put the system on Standby and then try to restart the machine. It seems that a cold-boot is the only way I can load a new game (turning the power completely off).
Has anyone else had a similar problem or can offer a suggestion?

When you had your original PSX, the main way to restart the machine was to turn it off, insert the new game and then turn the power on so why is doing a cold boot a daunting task? You should be happy it works and that you have one. However, why not trying to enter the browser portion of the machine and entering the game through there and if it still doesn\'t work then try and use a DVD instead or a music CD. test the damn thing and get me some results :)

Thats one thing I hate about ps2. Cannot insert or change games when the machine is turned off :(

I never put my ps2 in standby mode. I feel scared that something bad will happen to it. I treat it like a baby. Always with care towards it!

I wish Sony would have made the PS2 more durable. It seems as if it can easily break.

LOL Same here! I treat it like gold, there isn\'t a spec of dust on it either.

......and another thing. I always keep my ps2 on standby, and nothing has gone wrong yet........except catching on fire and melting to a plastic puddle.........oh wait thats not my ps2 that was when I put some cds in the microwave.

I know some people that think it is better to leave their PCs on standby instead of shuting it down because they think starting it up from cold causes more wear and tear. This could also be true of PS2. As long as you have it hooked up to a good surge protector, you shouldn\'t worry about leaving it on standby.

I don\'t have that problem..
I just reset the console, get the game disk out and change another one and it\'ll launch up...
But I don\'t see it as problem; I think this can be possible by my PS2 version ( 1.10 ), or then not. I don\'t know.
